Black CDC Grille Installed

Installed my CDC grille yesterday. The install went pretty smoothly except for the part where they want you to reuse the fasteners for the radiator shroud. They are made of plastic and once they come out they don't want to go back in. I have a new set of fasteners on order, for now the shroud is held on with zip ties.

I also have to paint the radiator and hood latch brackets as these are silver like the car and stick out like a sore thumb. It will do for now but next weekend the grille comes off and I'll begin painting the brackets.

Overall I'm pleased with the product and the way the car looks. To me it looks meaner, much more agressive than with the stock grille.

Oh, one install tip: When your finally ready to bolt the grille on, place a towel in the grille opening and drape it over the front bumper. Doing this saved me from a nasty scratch when I dropped the grille trying to tighten the first screw.

Hmmm, the fasteners for the radiator shroud are push pin type fasteners. You pop the head out from the body using a screwdriver and then the bottom portion of it collapses together so that it can come loose. I've had my radiator shroud off quite a few times and the push pins still look brand new....

What screw were you trying to tighten? Does the billet grill come with a different mounting method than the stock grill and the Street Scene grill?

Looks very nice and once you black out the latch and core support bracket they will disappear.

I must have screwed up then because my fasteners don't work. No biggie as I have a new set on order. I know now to be more carefull taking them out.

I'm not sure how the Street Scene installs but the CDC uses supplied brackets and screws. It mounts real easy and once all the screws are tightened it's not going any where. I used thread lock on the screws just to be safe.
