Black Billet CDC grille Installed

I got tired of waiting for a blank OEM style GT grille, so I went ahead and got the CDC black billet grille. It was a little bit of a PIA to install because of all the brackets that hold it in place. Overall, it seems to be a very well made piece. All steel, very thick, and heavy.

The emblem is from John's Mustang. GRAYPNY had the same emblem on his and I liked the size. They are stick-on's.

Yes, the car's filthy. Everytime I wash it, it rains. But at least this way you can see where the old grille was. The CDC sits back just a little farther.

Looks good. I'm going to predict that within the next few weeks someone will release what you wanted.

I thought "billet" stuff was supposed to be or at least implied to be Alluminum and light-weight

Looks really good. Seems like a nice quality grill. I also see your avatar has changed as a result of this installation.

Right now I'm still planning on buying the OE honeycomb grille if it comes out. It just depends on how much this grille grows on me.

The word billet is incorrectly placed on a lot of things lately. What it's supposed to mean is the part is all one piece and is cut from a solid piece of material. (usually from a CNC machine) Also, it doesn't have to be any particualr type of material.

So, no. Technically this grille (or any other grille out there) is not a billet grille. I just described it that way because that's what most people call it.

Nice catch.
Yes, like I said above, I still want one, the only difference now is I'm no longer "desperate" for one.

I'll try to get one this weekend. The hood latch stands out like a sore thumb so I'd like to get that painted first.

I actually like the look of the fog lights since they help differentiate the GT from the V6. However, I didn't like how "busy" the front end looked once I got the Roush fascia. When I installed it, I disconnected the stock fogs and plugged the original harness into the Roush fogs. I didn't want to splice into the harness or cut a hole in my dash for the new switch. Also I'd always be using the Roush fogs instead so my stock fogs were useless. I even covered them up with GTS covers for a little while.

I like it. Glad you finally got something you like.It will be much easier to keep clean than the honeycomb. Thats one thing I hated about the stock one..And youre right, with the roush front, it was too busy with fogs

Was it any more expensive than the regular replacement grille they offer?

Looks pretty good man!

Better clean'er up though, it looks like your new grille was drinkin' Kool Aid and gave the bumper a mustache!

Congratulations Jason, the grille looks great! How long did it take from ordering the grille to actually having it delivered?

+1 on more pics

I promise I will post more pics. (I didn't get a chance to wash her today.)
I'm still undecided on whether or not I like the grille. Up close, it looks GREAT! From anymore than about 10-20 ft though, it starts to look like there's no grille at all. Looks like I just removed the stock grille. Once I post more pics, I think you'll be able to see what I mean.

Shipping was pretty fast. They got them in on Monday when I just happened to call to place my order. They told me it would ship out that day, but it didn't go out until Tuesday. I go it on Friday so overall I was pretty happy. (Michigan to Alabama: 3 days by FedEx)
