Billet Grills? Anyone Have A Thread Or Pictures?
Thank goodness...someone finally posted the grille I've been looking for. Ken, would you post a pic of it straight on at eye level with the pony (similar to second pic, but down lower)
Thanks
Thanks
the more I look at this the more I think I'll be cutting more than I thought.Does anyone else have tips they want to throw out here?
The grilles didn't come with directions
Norm, it really isnt too bad once you get over having to hack up a perfectly good grille....I bought a spare on ebay. anyway, you'll want to remove the grille first and lay the billet over it, you'll see to get the grille to lay flush you need to cut out all the way around the horse and the plastic around it. I used a sawz all and it cut right through. I then filed the edges and shot a little black paint to help hide the cuts. mount the center first then the outer pieces you will have to drill, make sure you line the bars up with the center ones, then re-install the whole assembly. Its not too bad once you get the horse area cut out. btw, a '03 fender pony fits great in the bars, don't remove the tab on back of the horse and it fits right between the bars.
good luck! mitch

Just trimmed out the pony trying to decide just how far out I can go, this is real easy I just don't seem to have time when I think I do something always comes up but it's getting there pictures will be posted soon!
I didn't have to remove the whole grille, but I just reread your post mtchstng I think I will remove it to get a better idea where to trim out and keep it stable...........

mtchstng,
How did you remove the side tabs, mine seem to big to slip back though the hole which they are clipped into, I'm worried if I force any more than I have tried the area with the holes will break... like I said earlier somethings always coming up..........

Norm, it can be a bear the first time. you can use a flat blade screw driver to help but you do have to be pretty rough with the bumper cover tab. You will have to bend it pretty far back. the good news is after you get the first one you have more room to get in there better and then you can pretty much just pull on the grille and it will come out.

I trimmed it all out (honeycomb) except where the clips go to hold it in,I don't like it,back to the drawing board! I think i may sell this billet and look for a one piece replacement.Anyone find any yet? I though I would like the overlay but it just doesn't do it for me lol I'll take a picture later and post it.

to loosen, then it slowly got easier!! Keep working it....
