The BEST Retro '70 Boss 302 Stripe Kit?? Post YOUR "S-197 Boss" Pics in HERE!

I am going to stripe my Grabber in vintage 1970 Boss 302 style. I've looked at several different stripe packages and am even considering just having them painted on.

Several of the packages are not true to size when compared with the original '70 stripes and many come off the hood at odd angles, being back against the cowl in the middle part of the hood but then flaring almost sideways leaving a widening gap of original hood paint that looks odd. Or, the stripes are too wide, they don't go clear down to the lip of the hood, or some other issue seems to be present.

I want a true '70's style set of Boss 302 stripes and would prefer vinyl if I can find it due to the fact its easy to remove or change down the road. But I'm not against just paying the price and having it striped in paint too.

So - who makes the BEST, original-looking vinyl 1970 Boss 302-style stripe package? Post your pics here if you like and tell me what you like or do not like about what you have or what you would do different.

And - IF yours are painted on, tell me approximately what you had in getting it done. I'm going to my body shop early next week and am going to decide between paint or vinyl then.

Pros? Cons?

In my opinion (and it's only an opinion), THIS one from Ridergraphix looks a little better:

Than this one from Autographix:

Why? Only because I do not care for the increasing hood patch behind the stripe in front of the cowl. The rear of the stripe should match the line of the rear of the hood in my view. But - the one from Autographix is more true to the thickness of the original Boss stripes and it does go all the way down to the end of the hood...

I'm not knocking the Autographix design - it's just my opinion. But I also think the one from Ridergraphix is a little too 'thick' where it drops down off the cowl/fender area.

THIS is the look (Autotrim Design) I want and will probably be the vinyl I will use if I do not paint the stripes on although I'm not going to put the vinyl on the trunk or spoiler (I'm having the spoiler painted satin/matte black as well as the area between the tail lights):

I would LOVE to install Boss 302 striping on my '05. Ya see, I owned a 1970 Boss 302 a long, long time ago and absolutely love the way it looks. BUT I have one issue in doing so. The body contours of the S197 do not follow the lines of the Boss stripe. So to me, the striping doesn't flow on this car; it fights the contour lines.... This is why I decided against using this striping....

My Boss 302 was a rare car. I have never seen, nor heard of another one equipped like mine was. It had a shaker, both spoilers but no louvers! Also, it came with the optional deluxe interior in red / red plaid with a center console. Almost all Bosses had the base interior in black with no center console. And to top it off, it had the "W" code rear axle -- a 4:30 Detroit Locker! I sold it in 1978 for a mere $1500. I'd hate to think how much this car is worth today......

Yes, It's definitely got to say "Boss" somewhere.

I'll agree thats the best one I've seen also. My last Mustang was sold in 83; a Grabber Blue Boss 302.
Got my 06 GT & wanted to do a Boss Tribute. I didn't like the 70 stripes on the S197, but I did like the 69 style, so I went with those. No 'Boss' or 302 badges, I still think of it as my GT.
