Also: Discount Tires. Free shipping and no Taxes. Have them drop shipped to where you're having them mounted. Pick a good shop, and remember the TMS is attached to the stems.

True, but if theres a Disount Tire in his state, he may end up paying taxes.
and the TPM's are not attached to the stems, but banded around the wheel.

Just did mine. They were attached to the underside/insde of the valvestem, with a band that went approx 18' from that diaode. I had mine dropped shipped from there Dallas warehouse. Your correct, in state he will pay tax.

Look for the best price on line then call your look discount tire. That's what I did. On discount tire direct 4 BF Goodrich KDW NT's 255/45/18 totaled $945 ($185 per tire) out the door price. I looked around and found them for $155. Called local discount tire and told them the price they said no prob. So I'm getting my new tire's tomorrow for $640 out the door. That includes mounting, balancing, and their fix/replace warranty. BTW-I don't know or have a hook up with anyone at the store they just said they would match anyone's price.

Two other places to try. I've never used them but the prices are good and sometimes beat Tirerack.

Really? I havent seen or heard of one on the Mustangs that was attached to the valve stem before. I'll have to look into that.

Are they actually part of the valve stem?

Thumbs up Thanks for the feedback ....

I'll post the pics this weekend if I can get the tires at a good price.
Also I don't think I have to worry about the TPM's since its a 2005
GT.

Attached and about the size of your keypod. I was surprized to see it. then a band approx 18 inches long attached to the wheel extending from it. Mine is an 07 with Fanblades. Not sure if it mattered or not, but put the same wheels back on where they were, incase the sensor would react to different location on the car. Know nothing about computers, so better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the info, they must have had a design change recently.

As far as the position goes, it should not matter as there is no reset available when rotated tires. Its cheaper that way I assume.

The tire rack does have great prices.....I bought my BFGoodrich KDW II's from them, but all of the local tire shops wanted to charge me and arm and a leg to mount and balance because I didn't buy the tires from them. Also no road hazard warranty, just the mfg's basic warranty. When I need tires again, I'll shop around locally and get a better mount/balance price, plus get road hazard.

Just as long as you realize that your front tire will have a diameter of 27.04" while the rear will be 26.66". I would really recommend changing the rear to a 285/40 which is 26.98"- a much better match to the front. If not, get a 245/45 up front instead which is 26.68" and a good match for the 275/40.

Recommended Rim Width Range for 245/45/18 would be 7.5-9" and I have GT500 18x9.5 Wheels. Plus BFGoodrich does not make 285/40/18 for their
G-Force Super Sport A/S tires - bummer.

Besides its more like:
255/45 - 27.1
275/40 - 26.7"

So its not by much.
