Maybe because not even a GT looks like that. Only the foglights where from a GT, everything else wasn't.

And nowhere does he have badging on it trying to pass it off as something it isn't.

The first pic of it with white stripes...it says GT 350 on the side. I guess as long as its not a badge.

Well, just for arguements sake, there is no such thing as a 2005/06 GT350 either anyway, so it is what it is ... A tribute vehicle. :P

Well considering how good the fender looks with no emblem at all, I also consider the mustang script decal the prettiest looking 'emblem' on the fender of the car. They now show them on this GT on the bobwhitedecals site and I don't like em, the website originally had a clean yellow V6 with just the script in black just above where a "GT" emblem would be and it looked super classy.

You aren't the only one who has made the upgrade from V6 to GT bumpers. I too made this switch for 3 reasons.

1. The fog lights
2. Color matched rocker panels
3. Dual exhaust ports in rear bumper

I think as long as you like what your car looks like it really doesn't matter what people think you're trying to do. I bet most everyone would agree that if it's cool it's cool no matter what!

ok that's my $.02 so here's a few pics of my V6 to GT modified 05

I have also added a set of 2004 17X9 bullitt wheels which look much more aggresive than the stock GT wheels

Welcome to the site, however, you will find that most people do find it cool if you modify a model (regardless which car) to look like the, dare I say, better model. That is up until the point the person puts the same badges on and tries to pass the car off for the better model. For example, I have no issue what so ever if someone puts GT bumpers, grille, etc on a V6, but, if they then put the GT badge on the car I just don't agree with that. There is a guy in my town that has done this and he even tells people it is a GT. Yes, this bugs me. No different than if I put the Shelby badges on my car and told people it was a Shelby. Shelby owners would be pretty upset. I still don't understand whp people are trying to impress by attempting to pass their car off for something it isn't.

If I tried to pass mine off as anything other than a v6 I would get laughed out of Alabama. Believe you me.

That is, if you aren't laughed out for some other reason first.

And, you don't have a Cobra?

Also, to +1 up on what John said -- I have no issues up until you add the GT badges

Hades no. :nono: I have a bone stock v6.
I am sure I provide enough amusement sliding into parking lots. I don't need the added aggravation of playing a merry game of Lies to boot.
