Anyone thought of any ways to cover the...
I will be removing my spoiler, after changing my mind about a hundred times, and I am looking for a way to cover the holes that they are going to leave in the decklid without having to repaint the whole trunk. I read a while back of someone plugging them with some black plugs. But I am looking for something that will be less noticeable. Has anyone else taken their spoiler off and come up with a creative way to cover the holes? Or can anyone think of anything?
Thanks. That might just be the only way. How noticeable do you really think it'll be to have plugs there even if they are painted the body color? Should I spend the extra 2 or 3 hundred bucks to have the holes welded and the trunk repainted?
Look in the 99-04 sections of the other Mustang websites. There were a LOT of threads with some good ideas and plenty of how-to's and details about EXACTLY what to buy.
Removing the spoiler is pretty popular with that body style since it wasn't a factory option.

You could always cover the holes with the spoiler.
I'm actually thinking about going Mach 1 and painting my spoiler black. Get some Mach 1 wheels. And put some black paint on the hood and trunk behind the rear window.

Any tips on removing the spoiler. I am switching mine out for a black spoiler. I have heard there is double sided tape under the spoiler.
What is the best way to remove the tape without hurting anything?

Mach 1's didn't have blacked out trunk lids, only BOSS 302s. It's a good idea, though...I will be going with a shaker hood, black spoiler, rear blackout panel, and might blackout the trunklid too...the jury's still out on that one.

I saw the things that CDC offers to cover up the holes. What the heck were they thinking? Is that the best they could come up with? Looks like something that would go on the edges of a ricer wing.

69Boss, I just posted this thread about Red Fire and black spoilers. Since you mentioned it, and I see you have a Red Fire car, I figured you would like to see it.

Open the trunk and remove the 2 nuts on both sides and then use a blowdryer or heat gun to heat/soften the adhesive and slowly but firmly lift the spoiler off as you heat the foam tape. Takes some patience.

Thanks, I just went out and tried that before reading this. Worked great. See my thread if interested.
