I have some fresh paint and need to know if anyone has used star shield or invisible bra to help protect from rock chips, my paint is only 3 days old & I have a chip already, It's a daily driver so I need some protection...any experience would be greatly

I have a clear bra on my hood. I got a chip on it and then decided to put the bra on. Seems to work well as there are a few scuff marks on it which may have been chips without the bra.
$25 bucks on ebay for the kit, plus a ripoff $15 shipping when it cost less than $5.00 to ship and he don't combine.
Still, even at $40 it's worth the money and still cheaper than the 3M version at over $200

i know the clear bra is good to prevent chips, but i have the fact that it interrupts with me waxing the front. it sounds silly, but i wax my car 3 times a month and i will get frustrated. i have never had clear bra on my car but im simply just stating that i might not like it cause it will probably get in my way of doing stuff that i do on a frequent basis.
I cropped this pic up a bit. My hood shines, and if you look near the edge of the hood near the fender you'll see the line from the bra. Then look down to the part of the GT/CS stripe that is visible and compare the lines. The bra line is about as visible as the line of the stripe.
If you look real close, you may see the line that goes across hood as well. But as I said, lighting and angle determine what you can see, not to mention the knowledge that it's there!

I'm getting a clear bra installed on my front bumper in 2 days. They don't fad, but if not kept up or waxed correctly, they will turn yellow in color. The shop that's doing mine prefers Turtle Wax Ice.
denlem, I would really like to see more close up shots of your clear bra on the hood of your car...to see the "line" that you are referring to.

I'd like to show you more, but I don't have any pics of it right now. The car is all wrapped up and put away for the winter, so taking a custom pic is not possible until maybe March!
I'll look through my collection to see if anything is visible, but the best I could find (so far) is already posted.

I noticed that the clear bra material offered in Griots Garage catalog states NOT FOR USE ON REPAINTED VEHICLES or plastic bumpers. You might check the stuff you are going to buy out before you peel your new paint off.

I actually had the guy that's going to be doing it come over to my house and explain everything to me so I don't end up with any surprises...shouldn't have any problems, but thanks for the heads up!
