Being "The Mustang Source Forums official Psychologist" I would think you would understand my association of owning a Mustang and all the aftermarket performance and cosmetic products available to being an "8 year old with a toy". A regression yes, but a very happy regression.

Thank, Paul!

I'm just one coupling away from completing this Shaker install. I had to modify the lower air duct to fit into the heat shield and I'm having some trouble locating a hump hose at least 3 to 4" inches long.

I'll post pics once I locate one and install it.

In response to everyone who ask why, Why do some pay hundreds of dollars for hoods with fake scoops or vents in them? At least the shaker looks good and provides SOME cooler air.

Shaker update:
$30 and a 1 hump hose later, it looks like I'm finally complete!

I may at some point replace the rubber coupler (sleeve) on the lower duct that I cut and shortened with a similar back silicone coupler. Because it's so short on the grip area (for the hose clamps), it may pop apart. The silicone coupler seem to grip the duct and hose clamps tighter. Ahh, but that's later on, I'm tired of working on and tweaking the Shaker ducts.

Here's some pics of the complete system.

Bill - thanks again. Can't tell you how much your How-Tos have helped out. Care to share any info on how you cut down your Shaker shroud to show off those FRPP valve covers? Looks like you've got a gasket around the edge of the shroud? Thanks!

HELP!!!
Why not? People add tons of stuff to their car that doesn't add any performance (engine dress up kits, stripes, different rims, etc etc etc). It is just another mod that a lot of people like

why is it useless???

it is one of very few functional hood scoops....

it has real nostalgia, unlike many other aftermarket stang parts out there....

it looks badass....

do i need to keep going on?

You're welcome.

I trimmed the shroud using a Dremel with a router bit, cuts like butter.

I used door trim (self adhesive) around the edge, Pep Boys.. ~$20.

Rest of the pics can be viewed here.

Bill is too modest. Using the dremmel with the router bit was very hard. I could not cut a straight line. I wound up using a jigsaw instead.
I saved Bill's write up and added a section for cutting the shroud. Hope this helps. Thanks for writing this all up Bill.
