So I made my monthly trip to the local book store to read all the Mustang magazine's and I came across two ads that angered me a little. One was from Bash Performance offering their GTR kit and made it seem as if it was available now. Well correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe we have seen one yet. That and the whole ebay auction with them trying to sell one for $90,000 that was just wrong too. Now the only reason this second ad angers me is I have been watching this kit for some time now and keeping close tabs on it through posts on here. Halibrand is advertising in magazines that the "Twisted Edition" (eleanor/Thalon) body kit is available now and that they are taking orders. Well last I heard they are still finalizing that kit. If anything has changed with availability on either of these kits and I'm way out of line for posting this let me know and I'll apologize but it's almost like false advertising to say something is available when I know I've been told neither are out yet. Sorry had to vent a little.

 

I don't care much for Bash Performance's claims, as they were Ronaele (companies are merging from what I understand), and the guy has created some controversy as to where his design came from (stolen from BBR or something like that).

As far as Halibrand, they were aiming for the end of March, but like any SERIOUS company, they want to put out the best product out THE FIRST TIME AROUND. I'm sure they are taking pre-orders, that's why they've claimed that is available.

I'm waiting for Halibrand to come out with their side exhaust to see if I like it over Cervinis, and no, I'm not even considering Ronaele/Bash for that...

 

I can't wait to see Halibrand's car I just wish they could get us a final product because I'm seriously considering their tailights if they look good. The only reason I let the Bash/Ronaele ad bother me is I think it'd be cool if someone could actually come up with a kit that resembles the GTR and not just falsify it.

 

Guys you should try and be the manufacture of the kits and deal with the bureaucracy and logistics. It’s not just parts from one supplier but many that have to come together to make this happen. For the front end alone I have 7 different suppliers for parts. The taillights and the way they’re going to light is a whole new way unlike anyone else on the market. So your dealing with O.E. issues on wiring and fitment. Magazines generally take 90 days to go to print after the ads are placed when we started running ads we were on track to have the parts available this month. Right now with the hold up on small parts manufacturing were trying to get it all done ASAP. If I put out crappy parts because we rushed them to market just to be here you guys would talk about it here on the forums and say how horrible these kits are. And if were not timely your fed up with how long it’s taking. It will be worth it in the end we are very close now on wrapping all this up. If we could manufacture the kits and components in house it might make it easer but the cost would be a whole lot greater. We’re trying to keep this kit market competitive for pricing and not astronomical.

Rick, I wasn't trying to upset you with my post I want you to know that. I completely understand your side of it. I am upset more by the Bash Performance BS than anything. I have been following your kit since before I knew Halibrand had anything to do with it. I am very anxious to see a final product and that's probably gotten the best of me. Sorry if I was out of line in including your kit in my post.

 

No offence taken. Some times I wonder if everyone knows how hard it is to put out a quality piece. I can’t speak for Bash only for Halibrand.
