To All With WebElectric Pony Corral!

Hey guys, had a quick question pertaining to the webelectric pony corral. I just got one and put it on the car, but was wondering if i put it on correctly?? I just stuck it on the grill and kind of shoved the tabs into the grill openings and it stuck on there like glue. It will take some effort to get it off. Is that the proper way for it to be installed?? Now, i didnt use the 2 screws that came with it, will it be fine for everyday driving or will it evertually come off without those screws?? Any advice is greatly appriciated.

Thanks

I used the two screws. The tabs didn't seem to fit right for me.

Where did you get the pony corral? I thought Webelectric discontinued it.

I got mine when they first came out. Mine didn't come with extra screws. It popped right in and has held firm ever since.

The piece that the WebElectric Corral was made from is the center bar of the Pony Package. It is a Ford part that can be bought from your dealer seperately and altered to fit by cutting off the smaller fog light pods. If you go to a Ford dealer and check a Mustang with the Pony Package Grill you will notice that the grill eggcrate design is different than a Gt Grill. If you look at the center bar you will notice that it is held to the grill by chrome tabs that are part of the bar on the backside. These tabs are what tend to hold the bar to the GT Grill not by location but by interference fit of the different eggcrate design. How do I know this, when I got mine from WebElectric a couple of years ago I was suspicious and went to a Ford Dealer and did exactly what I told you all to do. Check it out especially if you might have a friend who already has one. Good Luck to you All. Make your own the parts alot cheaper from Ford also.

Part number is 6R3Z-8213A, lists for about 100.00 now, was 45.00 a couple of years ago.
I posted a some what "How-To" in the thread that can be found in the "Want to Buy" section of the forum. If some one knows how to link these together, feel free.

YOU SHOULD MOUNT CORRAL WITH THE nuts/bolts...unless you want to take the chance of having it drop off. The interference fit will not be secure once enough.

btw...I've had mine mounted to th egrill for nearly 2 years, no troulbles at all.

I made up my own, at the time a lot cheaper than Webs.

Boy Ford must have realized the part was hot. I was going to say I thought the part was around $45 to $65 from Ford a couple years ago.

All in need,
just get the 06 or 07 pony package medallion and cut to fit. You can use what ever method you desire to secure it. some have used JB weld and studs, I used #8x2" sheet metal screws and really big **** washers that I painted black to blend in. My grill was cheap I found a used one. My local ford will sell them medallions for about $80. they list for $96 I think.
