Actually the new Agent 47 mirrors using the new material (can't remember what it's called), Agent 47 puts a note in the box stating that due to the new manufacturing process that the studs don't fit as snug in the new mirror housing as in the old ones. The DO recommend a quick set epoxy when affixing the studs in the housing. The report that some people have had their studs loosen and/or fall out. I didn't take a chance with mine, they're JB Welded in :-)

Am I the only one who prefers the stock mirrors? Not completely stock, since I think you should have them painted to match the car, but I like the bulky look of the original Ford mirrors. The Agent 47 mirrors look euro to me, and the stock ones make the car look more aggresive. I think I'm the only one, though.

Actually this style is part of the Mustang heritage. Go look back at the Mustang Souce timelines from 1969 to 1978, they all had these mirrors. So how does designing a retro looking mirror that was used for 10 years on previous Mustangs make it look Euro? I guess Ford was Euro with the design of their Mustangs, NOT!

All second generation Camaros and Firebirds also used this design.

Me, I'm getting a set and plan on leaving them black since I feel that on a convertible when painted they make the windshield A pillar look too bulky as would painting the stock mirrors.

actually Ford did make it a point to say, as a selling point, that the original 64 1/2 Mustang had some european styling.

but yes these mirrors are very Mustang.

They look great!

I have them also, and noticed one problem. If you look at the car, the A-pillar and mirror are body color, and it makes the cheap textured black window trim stick out like a sore thumb.

I pulled the trim off this week and am going to have it smoothed and painted body color.

Just a thought.

LOOKS GOOD. The only thing you may want to try is paint the upper molding so that the mirror will blend in even more...............

Very striking results by painting the whole mirror orange.

The factory mirror and molding are smooth after painting.

The mirror has atleast two more coats of paint on it than the molding. The texture on the mirror is deeper than the molding. You dont have to sand down the mirror smooth just scuff up and apply enough coats of paint to fill in the texture.

On the verts it wouldn't look right as it would be going up and down with the top.

The only other option I have thought of is to paint a connection "stripe" straight down toward the door, on the triangle part to "connect" it, and that may look lame... I have even done some photoshops to see if the top part of the triangle (stopping along the line of the post) could be painted black and tapered down to the front triangle point... still not sure if it would look decent. Any other ideas?

I guess if I had bought a black pony, it would not have been an issue...

I love the design and agree they are such an improvement over stock. The Midwest Mirror Covers help the stockers but they still don't look retro like those do... Looks great Jeff
Well here is my pony and you can tell where I drew the lines.

Luv the look of these mirrors. Any idea if it would be possible to chrome the mirror housing while leaving the stalk and moulding black? (Going for real old school here.)

looks better w/ the entire housing painted imo, but i could go either way as long as it's not those stock ranger truck mirrors.

Now that looks clean! It almost begs for the upper door molding to come off and get painted also.

Mine arrived last night. They took less than an hour to install this morning. My son was away with the digital camera this morning so pics will have to wait until tomorrow, I'm leaving mine unpainted.

No I didn't have to apply any epoxy as the holes for the three studs were very tight. These studs are metal and have a self tapping thread on one end to cut into a plastic hole in the mirror and a machine thread on the other end to accept the nut that holds them to the door. Very easy install and there would be no problem putting the stock mirrors back on the vehicle if you should ever change your mind.

No pictures yet as my son broke our digital camera and so far has not replaced it.
