Aftermarket Hood Installation issues?

I was wondering if anyone has either good or bad experience installing the following hoods. I have heard issues came up with one or two of them.

1. Saleen Composite hood w/louvers

2. Legend Composite Hood.

3. RK California Dream Composite Hood.

I like the Saleen, but hate to spend the cash on the Aluminum version, but heard the composite Saleen hood had some issues and is no longer being produced by saleen.

So which hood was simple and straighforward to prep and install? Any help is greatly appreciated....

Here is my Mustang as it stands....

I've heard people with all these hoods(fiberglass)say that theirs was low prep while others were high prep.I think its a crap shoot.

If you like the RKSport, why not the Cervini's version? It's closer to the concept, and Cervini's hood fitment and quality is second to none.

Thanks, I didn't realize that Cervini's made one like that. I have had Cervinis on other Mustangs and you are correct, fit and finish is great.

California Dream Hood

My son purchased a CDH and the installation and fit/finish was great. We had the grill part painted black. You need to use hood pins with the installation of this product.

There have been many posts as I recall with this hood looking great, but people having high speed vibration problems.

Just my thoughts.........

No trouble with the install on mine.
Just the High speed vibration caused me to pin it!

Cool Cali dreamen hood

My Cali dreamin hood fit perfict right out of the box , no rework needed , in fact it fit better line wise than my factory hood . All I had to do was wet sand and paint , what a nice change compared to some of thr other stuff out there'

You can look at my hood on a previous pot of mine if you like .

My Cali Dream hood fit great. The bodyshop guys said it would take an extra 10 hours of work to make it show quality, but it was one of the best aftermarket hoods they had seen. I left it as it came, and have no regrets. One front corner is a little rounded off (which I have seen on other's as well), but overall it is great. You do have to drill a hood prop hole (don't use struts with this hood), and you do have to pin it, but I'd buy one again, or get a shaker.

Ducting is "pass through" only openings in the front and nothing to direct the air to the intake... but non-the-less...

I'd love to have that hood.
