aftermarket exhaust tips
How do you install aftermarket exhaust tips if the ones on the stock mufflers are welded on. Are they just supposed to slip over the stock tips? (I have the bright rolled tips that come with the GT appearance package).

Installed my Ford chrome exhaust tips today. Basically it took about a half hour or so. They slip over the stock exhaust pipes and you bolt them on with the included brackets. Very easy because even I could do it.
Just follow the included instructions. There are two different sets, one for the V8 and the other for the V6. I bought them on Ebay from Matt Ford. I paid $85 plus $10 shipping for the pair. They are Ford parts. They look great!
One thing though I just thought of, my car has the stock GT exhaust pipes. If your exhaust pipes are different, you may need something else.

I think if you get the GT appearance package, the tips are welded on. I got the tips separately like Scarpi and they just bolt on.
If you want to replace your welded tips, I would think that you would have to get them removed by a muffler shop.

Ford tips are just held on with two clamps, takes all of 18 seconds to install them. They fit right over the stock tail pipes. GTAP cars have them shipped to the dealer in the mail within a couple days of the car arriving and they get put on in the PDI. I put GTA's on, and took mine off and put them on my dad's 06 in under 5 minutes.

They slip over the pipes and look about 3" there and the tips are about 3 1/4 " diameter. They don't look over done and just dress it up nicely in my opinion. Here is a before and after.
