OK, many thanks to AFBLUE for this idea!!!!! Now I need some feedback. If you've never seen a '72 Sprint, check out this web site: http://www.angelfire.com/sports/1972mustang/index.html

Now that you know the look, what do you think about doing it to my car? Here are some basic chops that I did, along with AFBLUE's ideas........

No for me. (JMO)
But I never really liked the Sprint.
I do however think it would look better if all the stripes were the same color.

The colors on the chop are a bit bright, but overall I think it looks quite good.

Don't do it!

I would ask yourself this question. Do I love that look? Is that the image I want? Is it a look that I will still like next year (I guess if you do it in vinyl you can always remove it).

Only you can answer that.

One thing I would recommend, if you go this route, is going with a darker blue than the original sprint. That blue looked like a grabber blue. I would go with a darker blue like Vista Blue. JMO

Thanks for the honest responses so far. My chop is a VERY rough representation of the idea. I'm thinking of hood stripe width in the 11"/2" range. I would go with a less bright red, and a deeper blue.

I've got the sprint decals on order, found them for $11 bucks, and even some yellow film for the fogs, $17. But I'm still 50/50. I also am getting the U-Trim from 3D Carbon, and I'm putting that on for sure. Once I get that on, I hope to make a decision. Is it very clean all white look, vs. the modern Sprint look.

I really want to try to tie in the blue interior with the exterior. My original idea (even before I bought the car) was Shelby stripes, but when AFBLUE threw out this idea, hummmmm. Just keep the opinions comming, I realize I have to make the ultimate decision! Thanks, again.

I was never a big fan of the sprint. Still for some reason I like it even less in your chops for the 05. Something about the styling of the 05 just does not suit that look, they just don't compliment each other. Well thats my 2 cents.

Luke I like your car and the blue interior is a cool idea. Could we see some pics of exactly what you did with the interior please.
As for the sprint package, I m not crazy for the whole complete package idea. I think its a bit too much blue on the exterior. I think if it were my car I would just go with maybe a deep blue side stripe and or the blue in the back between the tailights. Or maybe some subtle blue pinstipes somewhere. Just not too much blue outside.

AFBLUE , your funny you gave him the sprint idea and now your trying to talk him out of it. But I have to agree, it may sound good now, but later on he may regret it.

Brain storming ideas is one thing, but when someone is going to alter their car, I would want them to get it because it's their heart's desire. I just wanted him to seriously think about what he wants and not be swayed by me and my ideas. I like the Sprint idea but it's not my car.

Luke, you need more blue in the interior... Start painting some panels!

I'm not sure how I feel about the Sprint look. Part of me likes your super clean white and part thinks you should have some color on it. I've changed my mind 3 times about my car's future appearance already.

A I said before, I originally went with Perf White because of the whole stripe idea. So something bold for the exterior is not out of the question. The real question for me is, which do I like better - full body stripes or this new idea?????? I would have never thought that the all white would have grown on me as much, that's what is making this decision mildly hard. I would like to make a decision before I put the U-Trim piece on because that has to be painted, and I don't want to paint it twice (stripes/no stripes).

Tim - check out my Album - more interior shots there.

Justin - funny you mentioned more color in the interior. At one point I would like to add (maybe) white suede to the headliner, a-pillers, and top panels (to where the body panels seperate). Haven't thought about painting any blue, but my interior guy did suggest that if I do roof stripes, to follow those stripes on the headliner!

AFBLUE - If I do this Sprint thing I will have you come sign my dash, ala Carrol Shelby

I like it with the darker blue and red; otherwise, Houston Oilers.

The sprint is probably better left forgoten, it wasnt a performance car package, just a last ditch to sell some 72's as they were dropping in popularity quickly. Its way too '70s in style.
