2007 CDC Shaker install question

I have a 2007 Mustang GT and my CDC Shaker arrived today. The template that came with it has a sticker that says, "11 1/4 from rear of hood to rear of Shaker" covering what originally said "11 3/8 from rear of hood to rear of Shaker". I know that CDC has a different model number for the 2007-08 kits. The thing that puzzles me is they still have the same instructions for all the kits and that says "11 3/8". Does anyone know why they made this change on the 2007-08 models? I'm hoping to install this tomorrow, I tried to call them, but they are closed. I'm nervous about cutting my hood as it, the sticker with no explaination is throwing me for a loop!
Thanks

the diffrence is 1/8 of an inch. Stop worring and pick one. there is more than 3/8 " of adjustment in the ring alone. Take a deep breath and cut the hood!
I know the feeling. But after you start its all joy when the hood is cut.
I cut mine a few weeks ago. Take your time read all the instruction twice, maybe 3 times before doing anything. then get after it.

I measured the template and it's 11 1/4". That must be one of the differences between the 05-06 kits the07-08 kits. I'm cutting tomorrow!

just do it!!!!

go with the 07-08 measurements.. i know the hood liner underneath is different but the hoods should be the same... so the diff in measurements cant be that dramatic....

anyway good luck

Mark it, and cut it. Remember to use a high quality blade with atleast 30 tpi; the more tpi, the better. And remember to stay properly hydrated; I recommend Bud Light.

i have to admit i used a 4" angle grinder to cut my hole.... so if your afraid to use a jig saw... dont be.

there is plenty of room for a 1/16" here or there... the trim and the shaker itself are somewhat adjustable during install...

Just be sure to use Taco Bills suggestion and don't mount the trim ring until the very end so you can center it around the scoop itself. I cut the hole in my hood when the car was only five days old, the wife was freaking!!

Welcome to the Shaker club!

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. I need to thank Taco Bill too, had the laptop next to us the whole time with his write up. The job went quite well if I do say so myself. We threw the chin spoiler on before we quit for the night. That was a piece of cake after doing the Shaker!

PS Bud Light flowed like water last night!

Thank you, I love the new look. For anyone who reads this thread with the same question here is what CDC said:

I apologize for the confusion! We just recently made the change to 11-¼ inches for slightly better fit, but the original 11-3/8 inch measurement will work just fine as well. The 1/8” difference will not affect much of anything at all. I hope this helps! Thanks again,

Looks awesome! Glad everything turned out well.

Heck, I love my Shaker so much, I didn't have the heart to ditch it when going FI.
