2005 GT Wheels on an V6

I am looking to put the Stock 17" alloy wheels from the '05 GT on my '06 V6. I know that the offset on the old 16" wheels is 39mm and the offset on the 17" wheels is 45mm. Is there any problem putting these wheels on the V6 or do i need some sort of modilfication? Anybody out there tried this before?

No modification necessary. I sold my stock 17" machined wheels to my fiance's friend who has a V6. It actually looks really good and the offset appears correct. She has not experienced any rubbing, etc. in turning or any other issues.

Bolt 'em on-no problem at all. Have them on my car.

Pony package cars use these wheels as well.

I don't see an issue either as my V6 has those same rimms on it just that mine came with them on the Pony Pkg. The tech I have work on my car at Ford though had a friend who had some issues with the tires rubbing but I don't know if he used the direct stock GT wheels or if he had a different setup

I have them on mine, too. No problems at all and the stance is much better looking than the stock 16's. Post your pics when you've done it.

I am very interested in replacing my V6 rims with the bullitt style rims also. The only question that I have is are the wheels that much larger that they will screw up the speedometer? Is it possible to reflash the computer to compensate for the different sized wheels?

Good question about the speedometer, but I haven't had any issues yet with mine, I put GT Bullits on my V6 vert. I agree with everyone it's a great mod and not expensive. I would imagine that it would be very possible if the speedometer was off to correct it being that the Pony Package uses the same wheels and tires.

Here's a good link to a tire size calculator:

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I found this while looking for a different size tire for my original 16" wheels. You'll find the difference to be about .6 MPH, not enough to really worry about.

This is an even better tire calculator site:

http://www.1010tires.com/tiresizecalculator.asp

I think the change in the speedo was minimal!
Speedometer Difference: 0.627% too slow

I also used my old V6 spinner caps just to be a little different from the next guy!
