The body shop made a 2nd attempt to install the C-stripes using a replacement set, and it came out much better this round. It's clear however, if you look closely, that the top and bottom halves of the "C" are off kilter and not cut right (look closely around the GT emblem). The first set was like this and the shop thought they were flawed, but this second round had cutouts exactly the same. Graphic Express feels the shop didn't know what they were doing, but I've measured everything and the stripes follow the creases as expected.

I think the GT emblem doesn't fit, and am looking for a replacement, and the car really needs to hunker down on larger rubber and the Magnum 500 wheels, of course. I'm debating the Eibach Pro lowering kit when the time comes to swap out the wheels/tires.

Your comments appreciated. I may have the C stripes painted on when I can afford to have the trim removed and the panels clearcoated, but this should hold me to Spring, at least. I think the 05 makes for a nice Boss variant--perhaps we'll see one come from Ford someday soon.

Awesome looking ride. What kind of hood pins are those and where did you get them if you don't mind me asking. How was the install process on the hood pins ?

The pins, oddly enough, were el cheapos ($15) from a local speed shop. I ordered the Ford Racing Pins from Partshopper.com, but these ended up getting back ordered and I needed something quick. A body shop did the work--said it took them a few minutes to drill and install. I'll probably order the FRPP pins anyhow, and swap them out with the ones on there one of these days.

I've attached a couple of closeups...

Looks good.
I think it would look better if the side cutline wasn't there like the originals (there is a lot going on now), but good none-the-less.

Your car looks great. I think the tape piece behind the rear wheels would look better if you lost it though. Very nice ride!

I just noticed you have these coming in

Rear quarter window louvers (black), rear window louvers (black), 18" Magnum 500 wheels
With those you'll definately have my fave Stang on the site, can't wait for you to finish her up.

Thanks for the compliments. By the way, looking at your avatar, I THINK I may have a shot of a Boss 429 from the Mid-Maryland Ford Show this past weekend. It came in first in class (I came in third in 94-2005, and didn't have the stripes at the the time). Let me check the camera tonight...

I like all of the exterior modifications you did to your car. They all look great. The C-stripes really sets the car off nice and makes the car look complete.

Hi John,

Your car looks great.

I was thinking about doing the same mods to mine for the past 4 months. I just got it 3 weeks ago. My first go round on the exterior mods are going to be to get everything except the CDC chin spoiler painted red (mirrors, and light buckets and fill in the antanna hole).

Then, I wanted to get the hood, rear spoiler and the trunk blackout painted black. I wasn't sure whether to go with a matte finish, satin or the gloss. Your hood looks awesome with the gloss. My only concern was that it would not match the C stripes on the side. I've been leaning towards a satin finish.

Now that you have the stripes on, what do you think?

Looks awesome but I would definately loose the piece on the rear quarter. Just doesn't look like it belongs there IMO

With the gloss paint on the hood, I'd frankly have them painted on with the same gloss/clearcoat, and I just might do that in the spring. FWIW, the difference between the hood/spoiler paint and the sheen on the c-stripes isn't that much different, and it takes a discerning eyes like yours to actually see it.

The matt looks less "dazzling" on Torch Red, in my opinion, although it seems pulled off on the chin spoiler. Go figure.
