I should be getting my 18x9 AFS Mach 1 knockoffs this week. From searching I've seen a lot of folks running 255s up front and 275s in the rear, but nobody seems to have 275s up front. Is there a clearance issue?

Roush and Saleen both do it. The Roush's are 275s on 18x10 wheels, I think.

Well, I feel a little better. The tires are in, and they look REAL wide compared to the front wells. My son, a Firestone tech, came home after work, took one look at the tires, and said "I don't know Dad...". Not exactly a warm fuzzy feeling.

Hopefully the wheels will be there when I get home, and I can run everything down to the shop and get them on. We'll know then.

Thanks.

As mentioned above, the Saleens are running 275/40/18's all around with no clearance issues.

Well, I'll know in a day or so. Once I get the word the wheels have come in I'll pack everything up and head out to the tire shop. If all is well I'll post pics later that afternoon...

Steeda runs those on their two Q S197s and they sure don't look like 4x4s..... or have clearance issues........

You will be fine, Groovin....

get pics up - I wanna see those wheels!

John, are you going to have the new wheels and tires on by this weekend. I would love to see them and what the clearances are on Sunday.

I have 274/40/18's all the way around on my Steeda rims.

They do rub in the front, but barely. My rims are 9.5 so yours might be perfect.

Mine only rub while the wheel is turned ALL the way in one direction.

I called AFS Wheels and the UPS tracking info says they'll be here on Thursday. I'm working from home Friday, so I'll have my son take the tires and wheels to work (he works at the Firestone in Westminster), mount and balance them, then wait for me to get there around 3pm. So unless UPS screws up royally I'm pretty sure I'll have them at the Ford show on Sunday at the 75-80 Dragstrip, and I'll definately post photos in a fresh thread. The weather report is perfect, by the way. See you there!!

Saw your PM - you should be fine - btw - my rims are 9" also - assuming you don't have a crazy off set - you be enjoying them with no issues.

WRT the 4X4 comment - thing springs after wheels & tire - made a major difference in the overall look!

I've got a page full of mods left to go (my sig needs updated), and Steeda springs are on the list. I'm a bit worried with the chin spoiler, but no guts no glory!

The feedback seems to indicate that all is probably well, but the 40mm backspacing, while in spec for the 05, is at the limit. I'll find out Friday!
