Looks nice !

How much room do you have left "in the fender wells" ?

Would the fenders have accepted another inch in diameter? or 255's ?

Tom

255s would problably be fine, but i think if you go any larger in the front, you will most likely rub while turning. The back however sits higher so you problably could fit a larger tire back there, however if your diameters are not the same or close to it, it may mess up your abs and traction control.

So theoritically, if I get 18 or 19 inch rims AND stay with 55 or 60 ratio's AND no lowering kit, the "Bumpyness Factor" should not change?

I've gone cross-eyed

Thanks,
Tom
If you go to an 18 or 19 inch rim and keep a 55 or 60 aspect ratio, then you wont make the ride and more firm. You will lose performance because you are going to a larger wheel, and will still have the same sidewall. If you are really concerned about losing comfort, then your best to stay with 17s and getting a higher profile tire like a 255/55/17. If you are set on upsizing to a larger wheel then i would go with 18s and a 255/50/18 tire, if you go with a taller tire than that, you will likely end up rubbing unless you decide to RAISE the suspension, not normally something you would do with a mustang.

I know the Beyonds are basically tailored for the Stang but your back wheel looks like it sticks out pretty far in that pic...

Check out my signature. I have the AFS 18" Mach1's with 255/45 tires all around. The ride is not rough at all.

Less side wall on your tire, the more you are going to feel the road, I had a a 94 lightning with 20's and 35 series tires, and even though I didn't mind it, the ride could get a little rough sometimes. Even with a softer shock installed. 2 other things about big rims and short tires, 1) they like to grab grooves in the road surface, so you'll find that your steering wheel will jerk around from time to time, and 2) bad freeway expansions are terrible, because the tire doesn't soak up any of it, it can be a little irritating once you've hit few "nasty" ones. But they look awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No rubbing or scraping at all. It rides a little rougher but nothing terrible that you don't get used to.

Woo ! Hoo !

The search is over. Thanks for everybodys help and input, it is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunatily, the Frau (wife) didn't care for the Fanblades, so . . . . instead,
I was able to find alittle bit of nostalgia:

CRAGAR SS CHROME ALUMINUM WHEELS (NEW).

Fitment: Ford Mustang 2005

Size: 18x9, +36 mm offset (6.42" backspacing) ,

Lug pattern: 5x4.50" (same as 5x114.3mm)

1 down, 1 to go - Now it's time to decide on TIRES

Those both look great, but I needed to stay with an all chrome design and at $199.50 each, I couldn't pass it up.

My initial "Driving years" was in the late 70's, so CRAGAR has always had a place in my heart.

Will the wheel dimensions 18 x 9 and the +36 offset cause any unforseen tire fit problems?

I'm difinetly going with: 255/50-18's (28 inches), but would like to go 55's, but not sure if that would fit the front (29 inches). I might mix and match so I can fill both wells to the same level. I'm trying to fill the wells and keep the comfort level close to stock. But I also want to watch out, that I don't fill the front to max and then have an obvious gap in back. Also, alittle weary about 50's in the front and 55's in the back.

Anybody know of issues or safety concerns with running different diameters (1 x inch) tires between the front and back?

Tom

36mm is the correct offset for a 18x9 wheel on the '05.

It's correct if you don't like the stock placement of the wheels and tires.

Wardog, Take a measurement of your stock wheels to make sure your rear end is centered under the car. Once you put on new wheels that will come so much closer to the wheel wells it will be more noticable if it's not centered.

Here's a pic of stock and one of 18x9's with a +36mm offset and 255/45/18's.

Jason,

Do you have a profile shot of that? I like the fill ration on the front well.

I wonder if there would be any problems going 255/45 in the front and 275/55's in the back?
