I'm sure that this has been discussed, by what do you think the pros and cons of each are. I can't make up my mind.......

me, im all about the nice meaty tire. my plans are 255/50R18's for the front and 305/40R18's for the rear!!

i hate low profile tires, the problem with 20's for me is finding a nice size sidewall.

IMO, 18's all the way

another 18 vs 20 thread?

Seriously, it's a matter of opinion. Look at both and decide for yourself. 19's are the perfect size for this car, but there's not much variety in tire and wheel choices w/ 19's. So, I decided on 20's since 18's come stock, and I wanted a bit of a visual difference from stock.

this is another matter of opinion saying that 19's look like the perfect size for this car.

i agree that 19's looks great on this car(in my opinion), but i dont know if i would ever want to go larger than 18's on my car(again, my opinion)

Don't drag me into another stupid 18 vs 19 vs 20 thread. When I say 19's look perfect on this car, it's quite obviously my opinion, which is the entire point of my post.

The only reason i am going to go with 20s is because every big brake kit i have seen says they need 18"+ wheels and that some 18s will not work with them but for some reason everytime i ask them they say that 20s will work no problem.

I went with 18's for a few reasons. At the time, 17's were the biggest you could get from factory. I prefer the look of a slightly larger sidewall than what the 20's offer as well as a smoother ride than what you get with 20's. I have been in an S197 with 20's and ya, I do like the ride of the 18's. However, there are some pretty sharp looking 20" rims out there now. Some are ugly regardless of the size.

That is a good point. I can't upgrade the brakes on mine. They almost rub as it is.

yeah and i am planning on the 8 piston SSBC V8 kit with the 14" rotors so they even said that my factory fanblades or even most replica bullitts will not work with their kit, but i asked about 20" Razors and they said depending on back spacing i could fit the kit no problem

Just to be clear, I understand that rims are a matter of preference. I'm looking for opinions here so sound off with yours.

My 05 is not lowered nor do I have any plans to do so (should have mentioned that).

Anyone with pictures of 18s and 20s or 19s and 20s for comparison would be nice. (I know that there is a thread, I looked at every page...and there are alot)

if you are not going to lower the car then stick to 18s with some good amount of rubber, here is a pic of my 06 with the factory 18s, i love them but i need to go bigger if i want to upgrade my brakes for better stopping power

Here you can tell the size difference from a 17" and 18"

Here is another example of compared to 17" (mine is the black car)

And all of this is with stock suspension.

I'd suggest picking a rim first then asking for help between 18 and 20. I like 18's more myself but there are some rims like the Shelby razors which look like crap to me unless they're in a 20".

If you're not going to lower, then go 18's. I think it'd look goofy w/ 20's at stock ride height. I've only seen a couple people be able to pull that off w/out looking weird. SoCal2fast I think is one member who ran 20" Foose Nitrous rims on stock suspension and it looked great.

I too have 20" foose rims on stock suspension and I think it looks perfect, you just have to get a slightly larger tire 35/40 series. If you get rubber bands it will look wierd and require lowering.
