How are you supposed to be able to clean the window with the louvers on? I am sure they attach to the windows using 3M tapemaking them more or less permanent. I am also sure you can see out of the window from the inside with them installed, but over time the dirt and road grime is going to get all over the window and I can't see how you would be able to clean it. This would drive me crazy.
I really like the look of the Street Scene louvers, but if the cleaning of the windows are as much a problem as I suspect, forget it.
Any ideas or comments on this??

I talked to a guy about tinting my windows when mine finally arrives and also asked the same question about cleaning the windows with rear side louvers on the windows. He seemed knowledgable because his car was riced out and had added a lot of stuff to his car. He said that he had put louvers on other cars and what they did at his shop was leave small gaps (1 or 2) in the 3M tape at the bottom of the louver. This would leave a small enough opening to rinse out dirt. I guess this suggestion doesn't help if they are bolt ons.

Yea, I guess I will just have to stop doing 50 in reverse, and I was getting so good at it! Seriously though, I don't think using a pressure washer on them would be such a good idea. Even after the paint has a long time to cure, I don't think it would stand up to high pressure water. I could be wrong, but wouldn't it stink to blow some of the paint off!!
If it doesn't then there's something wrong with the paint! I've never had a problem with paint flying off from a pressure washer.
Unless you count the period of time when my old 66 fastback was primer gray
It wouldn't blow the primer off in flakes per-se, but it would sure take that grimy layer off, you know the layer with all the finger prints and stuff on it.
Pressure washing that vehicle in that state revealed a new paint job every time

Say bye-bye to those in a hurry if you only use velcro.
Not sure what the big deal is on how to clean the glass once they are installed. It not like the window is going to get that dirty anyway.

The louvers are plastic that you have to paint to match the body colour. I am sure the paint will stick just like on on metal or fiberglass, but I would still be nervous to go at it with a pressure washer.
I may still get them, I am on the fence. I think I would like to hear from someone else that has had them on their car for a month or so.

The rear side window louvers on my '78 Cobra II were held on with a type of glue straight from Ford. I would suspect these will go on a similar way. It may be something more high tech, but a Velcro installation is just a quick and dirty way to lose the louvers. Those windows in the back provide little if any visual assistance anyway, and honestly, once you get used to the fact that you simply CANNOT clean those windows, it's just okay. You will get over it.
Incidently, the rears were hinged and tilted up with some nice supports for easy rear window cleaning. I'm hoping the new ones are similar if not identical.
