'05 Mustang Billet Grills PICS!
If you are going to go bling bling with the grill, you might as well get a billet grille. That honeycomb looks likes it's probably just a thin layer of aluminum cut to lay right over the existing honeycomb. I don't like that one bit.
And Kevin, if you have the choice of zip-ties and bolt-on, I'd choose the zip-ties. You can't really see them unless you know what to look for. And with the bolt-on option, you have to actually drill some L-brackets into your stock grille.

I don't like the honeycomb one either, thats why I haven't order the Street Scene one. I like the lines of the billet one, but would rather have a replacement rather than a tie on one. Even though those look good (kevinV6) I agree with acadian that it would still be a paint to clean because now you'll have the billet one and the honeycomb one for things to get trapped in. I guess I will wait until there are more choices out there.

The more I think about it the happier I am that the grill is installed with ties just in case I get tired of it I can just cut the ties and BAM! back to the original grill.

Under the circumstances I think you're 100% right. At first I thought the zip tie idea was crazy since I've seen the life expectancy of zip ties here in the tepid Arizona desert.
But the more I thought about it the more it made good sense to me since if you get bored with it or just want to change the look temporarily you can just clip the ties and remove it.I, for one, think I'm also going to wait for a direct bolt-on replacement billet grille. It may be pricey but it's gonna look sweet (especially if they offer it in black).
I had doubts about the Street Scene one, untill I saw it in person. It looks very good, and you can't really see the stock one behind it.
I was thinking about painting it black, but then thought that the satin finish may help hide the stock grill, so I will probably leave it with the satin finish, or maybe get black chrome instead.
Any opinions on whether it is better to do just the top grill and leave the bottom stock, or do both so they match??

also, just to let you all know... they will be available without the horse being cut out soon as well. B/c I got my grill through Blow-By Racing w/out the horse cut out since my fogs are relocated down to the new lower bumper for the eleanor kit.
just contact Blow-By to see what they have available... i'm sure they can make what you want. They are a rather new company and i'm sure they are looking to make people happy and give them a choice in what to get.

Oh yea their web site will be back up and running soon. they are changing host, wont be down too much longer. still just give them a call.
Well I ended up buying the two piece grill from caseycustoms on eBay (thanks Kevin for the tip) and we installed it last week. Cost $230. When I ordered it, I was going to take it to the powder coaters and have it done in black, but when it arrived we layed it in the grill and liked the way it looked! I like that it will come off easy if and when we feel like a change. In addition to putting the new grill on, I took the stripes off the bumper. They didn't lay totally 100% straight in the notch and it bugged me. When I get them painted on I will get the bumper re-done. I also put on the 4 x 12 Mustang script plate I bought from Licenseplate.TV (thanks Donna for that link). All in all, I like how the front looks now, the new billet grill looks fantastic to me. I especially like the fact that the lower opening looks so much better now.
