I could be wrong, but I think this guy posts on several mustang forums with this 'mod' which is meant to look like a mesh inlet to the wheel well that 'cools the breaks' but as far as I know it's attatched over the body with 3M so it serves no functional purpose besides marring the side of the car. I could be wrong, but the guy has posted several times at www.allfordmustangs.com and it's always on a white car.

I've seen the same thing here once, on a red car. It wasn't well received.

Is there a reason to put a cheese grater on the side of your car that I'm missing.

You are 100% correct. Looks like this one isn't well received either.

Nobody got vulgar Sorry the majority says....no thanks, and that will never come on a factory Mustang...ever, you can bet the farm on it. No matter what some salesman told you.

Looks like you got opinions, then. And I don't see anyone getting vulgar. This is just the wrong crowd to appreciate that type of adornment. Try a Civic or Mitsubishi forum, and maybe some punctuation.

no point to this. If pinkydoo can provide more info or a better question regarding it we may allow another thread. No use in beating this dead horse twice now.
