they're lucky, but they'd be stupid not to pick Crosby. I'm wondering how much news coverage he's getting in the states, around here he gets a lot but I want to know if thats just because he's from Nova Scotia.

Not nearly as much as he should be. Hockey is low man on the totem pole in the u.s.

Hopefully he is as good as people say, because the NHL needs a star to market itself around

I saw this yesterday on the news. I'm psyched!
The Ducks almost got the rights to get him, which would have been ok also, since they play a few minutes away. But I would think that it would be hard for him to make an impact in people's households if he played in Anaheim. Even though Pitt has struggled mightely in the past years, their team would be more widely followed

I hope he has an impact on Hockey that will lift it out of its misery right now. They say he is the next Gretzky/Lemieux, I hope so.

Hockey in the Burgh!

I may have to watch it.

I remember watching Lemieux score 5 unassisted goals in one game when he was in the league about 3 years. With the new rules, Crosby should adapt to the game faster.

its great for crosby that he will have Lemiuex as a mentor for a few years, that should speed up his development and take the pressure off him.

That might be good allthough from what I've seen he handles the pressure very well. He's got to be used to it by now, even 6 or 7 years ago everybody involved in hockey around here used to talk about him and go to see him play.

I think it is great too. But I am not getting my hopes up. I will just count the days until we trade him. Seem like that happens with all our sports.

If we keep him hopefully he won't ask for too much money so we can't afford him.

that's why they're marketing around Rick Nash and Martin St.Louis to name a couple to-be-stars

Hey Pens fans, let me ask you a question....

Why aren't you guys going after defensemen? You're offense was pretty set, but then adding LeClair? Doesn't make much sense to me...

Maybe you guys can shed some light for me?

Go Flyers!

Hey we signed the goalie (can't remember how to spell his name.) Ahh, I am drawing a blank. I know he is old, but it is something defensive-wise.

I am sooo excited. Individual tickets go on sale early Sept.

Jocelyn Thibault

Great Goalie. Would have been nice seeing Cujo in Pitt, but he might be over the hedge already

I can't wait for Marc-Andre Fleur to gain some more experience and kick some **** out there

Ya, Pittsburgh did good, but (i think im gettin flamed for this) except for their recent good pickups the core of the team is awful. i mean last year weiner Tarnstrom was their leading scorer. C'mon, who the heck is that? 50 points and hes their big gun? sorry guys, but until crosby and a couple draft picks develop theyre gonna have to hold back on those cup dreams. GO FLAMES!

I got a good feeling about this year in Hockey for the Pens!!!
They got defensemen Sergei Gonchar and Lyle Odelein, forwards Ziggy Palffy and John LeClair, and goaltender Jocelyn Thibault, all in the free agency market... and they just signed Crosby to a three year deal!

Pittsburgh dismantled their team at the perfect time...

their system was full of prospects and payroll was miniscule right when the old CBA expired.
