My first and last game at Truist Park - Atlanta

I needed to complete the trifecta of the Braves stadiums over the many decades. After attending games at Fulton County Stadium, then Turner Field, I had to go to Truist Park, the newest of the Braves locations. We were able to get a half decent rate at the local Hampton Inn which was just 10 minutes walking in a safe area. Many nights it is $300+ but this past Sunday it was $192 after all the taxes, etc... With parking at Truist ranging from $40 - $50 this brought the cost down to about $150 with no parking needed for the game. The Hampton was really nice too which was an added bonus.
I thought I was getting really good seats at $100 each for the game but the seating chart was misleading and we ended up between 1st base and right field at least 20 rows up (see photos for our view). The aisle traffic was endless during the game and I would guess I missed 25% of the 'at-bats'. You could not hear the sounds of the game here either. I really hated the seats. Now let's add in the noise factor. I really enjoy the organ stuff as that is the old fashioned way of entertaining the fans. What we didn't need was the screeching females pre-game talking basically about nothing. It actually hurt our ears. The between inning entertainment is for children and again way too loud. Mascot races, kiss cams, karaoke. It's endless noise and distractions. I'm old school watching the players and their amazing abilities. Yeah, i'm old and the days of watching Jim Lonborg and Yaz play at Fenway Park are decades ago. Even the Dale Murphy days in Atlanta are a long time ago. I'm definitely sad...
I've saved the best part for last. $6.49 for a Coke. Thanks heavens we ate before the game..

Thanks For The Tour!

I Think All Seating Charts are a PIA! Always Think You Are In the Cat Birds seat Not The Loo!

At Least I Don't See any Maskers! That's a Nice Sight in itself!

Amazing what they can get away with. That $12 buys me a 6 pack at the grocery store.
The Coke I talked about gets me a 6 pack of 20 oz as well. No one likes getting ripped off. Why is the ballpark so different? I wonder what theme parks charge in comparison. I haven't been for awhile so maybe they are just as outrageous. I have no idea what a family of 4 or 5 does in this situation. Don't go or go broke.

Unfortunately not for me. I was hoping to be right behind 1st base about a dozen rows up or so. That's about as far away as I want to be. I like being CLOSE while others are happy out in the bleachers.
I think my favorite seats of all time were at Tropicana Field in St. Pete when the Braves were visiting the Rays many years ago. For 3 straight games I went by myself and sat in the first two rows right by the dugout. I felt I was part of the team and right on the field. Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones were within feet of me and it was so cool!
No netting either so no taking your eyes off the action. Today 'fans' have their heads in their phones and would be getting clobbered with foul ***** left and right. Things have definitely changed.

My former father-in-law had season tickets 9 rows right behind the catcher. They were the best seats I've ever sat in. I saw World Series and All-Star games from those! It was of course the old Veterans stadium. When they built the new stadium they basically priced out the working Joe and he had to give them up.

^^^ I'm glad to hear you experienced the wonderful past like I did. Now I know what my Dad felt like when he talked about Ted Williams and that era's greats sitting at Fenway. To this day I remember the 3 World Series games I attended as a 13 year old in 1967. My Dad let me skip school and I will always appreciate that he took me. I wondered what he paid for those seats right by the Red Sox dugout. How many people can say they watched Bob Gibson in any World Series? He was unreal as was Lonborg in that 1 hit gem. 1967 baseball cards below.
