Major League Baseball 2010

It was great seeing Baseball return for the 2010 season!

And last night's comeback by the Red Sox over the Yankee's was a great first game!

But the icing on the cake was Steven Tyler's "God Bless America" and it was absolutely AWESOME!

If you didn't see it live, you have to give it a watch:

I can't remember the last time I got to watch a Cardinals opener. And Yadier Molina's Grand Slam at the top of the 9th made it oh... so... sweet! Cards take it 11-6!

Tyler's got some hot daughters!

Tyler, a Boston-area resident, was accompanied by his daughter, Chelsea, and performed during the seventh-inning stretch. She harmonized with her father at the end of the song.

Watching many of the games you could tell they were just out of spring training. A lot of players were a bit sloppy compared to when they are at their peak.
But not Beuhrle! "That play" was AMAZING & AWESOME!!!

Watching Yankees v Boston.

OMG the moment of silence for Ernie Harwell/Detroit announcer is beautiful!! You can hear the crowd! And the ball hit the glove - and the bat.

Another program even commented how Ernie was not only a great baseball announcer, but knew when to be quiet. And he was a RADIO announcer.

The TV announcers these days have diarrhea of the mouth!! ugh!!

:stfu:

They had that at the Braves/Phils game as well, but they added Robin Roberts as he passed on Thursday.

the announcers are bad for the most part, with a glaring few exceptions...the ESPN crew for sunday night baseball, they're not bad, they're horrendous. Joe Morgan has got to be the most self infatuated, nonsense spewing, waste of an announcing space inthe history of sports.

and my braves are sucking up the joint, horribly. They couldnt hit their way out of a wet paper sack. They've got to lead the league in runners left on base.

I hate network announcing. They dont know any real specifics about any team and fill dead air w/useless trivia.

It's a shame. I remember when they were bad in the '80's, then turned into America's team w/amazing pitching. Now they're ho-hum. It's a shame they were sold; Ted would have made sure they stayed strong...

Right - its like they think dead air (hearing the sounds of the crowd and game) is not allowed or poor broadcasting. But I'd bet that's coming down from some college dweeb in corporate that doesn't even like baseball (same with football).
