Lokamotiv, Russian Ice Hockey team plane crashes with 43 deaths

Unbelivable. A whole team wiped out in an instant. Not all Russian, the coach was a Canadian chap.

How do you recover a team from this? I know it happened to Manchester United in the 60's, but more of the team survived.

Thoughts with everyone involved. I seem to be getting a longer prayer list lately......

This has been such a bad year for hockey. Far too many player deaths even before this crash. R.I.P.

Tragic.

The only thing that comes to mind is the Thundering Herd of Marshall football team that was wiped out. Coaches. Players. Boosters. Very sad.

Very sad! A couple ex-Blackhawks on the plane. Weather was darn good. Never know when "your" time is called!

This was the on ice memorial they had yesterday at the arena in Minsk. It's in Russian and 35 minutes long but it's worth a watch if you love hockey like I do and are deeply saddened by the crash. Warning: very moving to watch.
