Indy 500 had BETTER ratings than NASCAR . .
Well . . .it's a start.

GREAT TV RATINGS
Danica Patrick's run to the front last Sunday was ratings gold for the IRL.
The 89th Indianapolis 500 drew a 6.6 rating with a 17 share overnight which was a whopping 40 percent increase from 2004. It also blew away NASCAR's five-hour fiasco at Charlotte (4.8) and for the first time in a decade -- the Indy 500 ruled the day.
While a couple of the IRL's brain trust were busy patting themselves on the back in The Indianapolis Star for this success, they need to get serious.
Was it a good race? Dang right, one of the best in recent memory with 22 on-track passes for the lead.
But the country tuned in to watch this special young lady mix it up at 225 mph with the boys -- end of story.
