I didn't state anything was wrong with Kobe emulating Jordan. I was simply saying the West Coast golden boy has tried to be 'Like Mike' . . . . minus the Colorado incident . . . and gambling allegations his Airness carries around.

My Marino reference was to championship rings, proving, being cocky and self centered will only get a talented super star athlete so far. Lebron James is further ahead than Michael Jordan at the same stage and age yet without a supporting cast as MJ had he falls short. Look what it took for Kevin Garnett to get a ring, or Kobe Bryant to get another.

The Bulls could not win without MJ, the same as MJ could not win without the Bulls or Scottie Pippens.

BUT the bulls need jordan more then jordan needed the bulls. Yea you need a good team to win a championship but even with a bad team, jordan still would of won scoring titles and everything else he won except for maybe a championship.

Not necessarily. With Washington Wizards he couldn't even make the playoffs at very weak East.

Sure, Jordan was 38 years old at that time, but still ...

how many 38yr old players do you know that can win anything? Im a jordan fan but when he came back with the wizards, to me that was a joke. BUT, even like that, he was still scoring more then a bunch of other young players in the league.

Not many, but he wasn't just another player - he was the Michael Jordan.

It's funny how the greats don't wanna give it up (jordan, favre, etc)

I can only quiver in fear at the emotional roller coaster ride that #24 will put me through when he decides to hang up the sneaks. Thankfully i've got some time and some rings left...
