How's England doing in qualifying for Germany 2006? Looks like they are behind Poland right now. Serbia is 1st in our group ahead of Spain with 2 games left.

We play Austria on Saturday and Poland on Wednesday next week. If we beat Austria, we are guaranteed qualification. We have had a run of bad form recently, the coach decided to try a 4-5-1 formation, and it really didn't work. They are reverting to 4-4-2 for the remaining qualifiers.

We play against Lithuania on Saturday (away) and then Bosnia on Wednesday (home). We are 2 points ahead of Spain. Spain will probably win last 2 games (Belgium away and San Marino home) so we need both wins or at least 1 win and 1 tie. Interesting thing is that our team allowed only 1 goal in qualifying games.

I saw that Liverpool-Chelsea game. Man, Chelsea is at this moment probably the best team in the world (next to Juventus, AC Milan and Barcelona).

Yep chelsea are doing well, 9 games this season, 9 wins......can't really get better than that!

Good luck for your lot against Lithuania and Bosnia!

When you have Roman Abramovich for an owner its that hard to be best in the world. Although I think main reason for huge succes of Chelsea is Murino (sp?).

No disrespect toward Mexico, but that country doesn't deserve to be in Top 10 on FIFA soccer standings. Only real opponent in qualifying for the World Cup they have is USA and they usually finish behind them. Against European countries they wouldn't be that good.

We'll see next year
And Mexico rarely comes in behind the U.S. (although they are getting a lot better lately)

They lost this year to the USA (2:0).

I saw all Mexico's games on last World Cup. They beat Croatia 1:0 (I was born in Croatia), beat Ecuador 2:1 and tied with Italy 1:1. And then they lost in 1/8 finals to the USA 2:0.

My favorite soccer country from South America is Argentina. They always play perfect in qualifying games, but once World Cup comes - they suck. It might take a long time until we see another Diego Maradona or Gabriel Batistuta.

Mexico is very unpredictable. They played a good game against Italy and completely blew it against the U.S. I wouldn;t be surprised if it happens again. Don't forget that Mexico won the U.S. at home this year in their first meeting during qualifiers.

Yea, Argentina is a good team, and I also agree that a Maradona pt.2 probably won't rise in a while there, if ever.

Well, we made it. We won last 2 games (Lithuania 2:0, Bosnia 1:0) and we're going to the World Cup. Mateja Kezman was awesome, 5 goals in last 5 games for the national team. James, I think you heard of him, he played last season for Chelsea (altough he was on the bench most of the times), he' currently in Atletico Madrid.

England have been seeded for the World Cup! That means no difficult teams in the Group stages!!

(we probably still won't see the QF's though.....)

That is one difficult group to get out of! Good luck.

the U.S. is grouped with the Czech, Italy and Ghana teams. Which is the most difficult imo.

Mexico is grouped with Angola, Portugal, and Iran
Portugal is the most difficult, but they have fallen off a bit I believe.

What a game today for Red Star. We needed win against Strasbourg (France) to go to next round of UEFA Cup. We were up 2:0 until 79th minute ... 2:2 at the end.
