Portugal is so over-rated.
They barely qualified for the World Cup, Ivory Coast killed them on the field and so will Brazil (but, unlike Ivory Coast, Brazil will score few goals)

Yeah, I'm not a Portugal fan or anything, I just wanted to make a quip about them and Brazil. I agree that Brazil would dominate them.

We beat Germany, but then lose against Australia (although we should've gotten a penalty in the closing minutes).

At least the US won!!! even if it was 94 minutes into the game.

 

The penalty, which we should've gotten, would tie a game and we would go to 1/8 finals where we would play against ... the USA.

I was going crazy after the US finally scored! Couldn't believe that game, another goal disallowed -- but at least we don't have to sit around talking about that 'cause we are moving on!

 

That match was intense! I was biting my nails the whole time. Hopefully the next match we play ALL of our goals will count. We've made it by this far and I would hate to see us drop out because of poorly made calls.

One thing is certain though, Donovan is going to be a rich man after this.

Ghana won. Straight up. They earned it. They were an athletic striking team that took advantage of the opportunities given by the US.

Doesn't make me any less upset about it. Though you are right, they won the match fair, the US just doesn't have any fire power up front. Can't wait for Donovan, Edu or Dempsey to come up and score all the time. Algeria had skilled players in their positions. That doesn't mean that we couldn't have won the game. Judging by the strikes and an insanely well placed goalie on Algeria's side, it just wasn't our night to win.

 

Netherlands beat Brazil! A lot of people around here aren't so happy anymore. lol I would like to see them go all the way to the final.

 

I'm not surprised. Brazil didn't had a real opponent so far; it was just a matter of time until they got kicked out.
