Write this down....

Arizona, Minnesota, San Diego, and Miami will all be eliminated this week. Interestingly enough that's all the home teams.

Atlanta at Arizona: Arizona is better at home at 6-2 than Atlanta is away at 4-4. Offenses are about equal with AZ getting a passing attack vs the run of Atlanta. Defenses are highly similar as well. I just don't see this being a laydown, but then it *is* Arizona, and they're limpin' in a little bit... so I'll go with Atlanta. One home team gone.

Indy at San Diego: 6-2 away vs 5-3 at home, LT is a little hurtin', and the Indy D is better. However, SD is on a roll... so this is the toss up for me. I'm gonna take SD. 1-1 home teams.

Baltimore vs Miami: It's still the current iteration of Miami, sorry. Baltimore wins. That's it. 1-2 home teams.

Philly vs Minnesota: 6-2 home vs 3-4-1 away, or 3.5-4.5 away, if you like. That Eagles tie with the Bengals bugs me plenty. They may have *thrashed* Dallas, but then I thought Dallas was posing all this time anyway, they're not a *team*, they're a lotta 'I's, with a T.O. mixed in. Minnesota is NOT a pushover at home, so I'm gonna take them, and have it at 2-2 home teams.

To recap, I call it: Atlanta, San Diego, Baltimore, Minnesota.

/If I'm wrong, meh, whatevers, that's what I'm goin' with.
//oh, and to properly smack a little bit: Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns, and New England Patriots, and especially the hated Tennessee Titans can all bite me.
///Love ya!

Pats should have made it....with a decimated, aging defense, losing Tom Brady, Laurence Maroney, Tedi Bruschi, Adalius Thomas to IR they still managed 11-5!....and San Diego crawls in at 8-8...?? What the...?

I didn't say they shoudln't have made it. I'm just glad they didn't.

On a serious note I feel bad for Brady. I heard on radio today that he has to go under the knife for the third time. First was injury, second was infection, and this time is scar tissue. I know he's a great QB, but will he ever be what he was in 2007? It's sad really.

they said Brady might not even be able to play in 2009 if the recovery of this surgery doesn't go perfectly...

My early season prediction was Colts-Giants... but my heart is w/ the Fins. If you haven't watched them, you should. Very well-coached team.

Away teams will sweep this weekend. 8-8 teams have no chance. Next weekend Titans and Colts will win in the AFC. Steelers with a banged up Big Ben is FTL. Rookie QB for Ravens is FTL. Panthers and Giants will win in the NFC. Colts vs. Titans will be close but a Vinateri FG to end the game is in the cards. Panthers vs. Giants will also be close, but Giants without Plaxico is FTL. Colts are healthy and Panthers are healthy. Colts 38 Panthers 34 final score for the Super Bowl.

Well, the Cardinals I didn't expect. I shoulda went with the Eagles, but it still bothered me about the Bengals thing.

So, now we have...

Cardinals vs Panthers - Ugh. I don't care at all. Panthers, I guess, only 'cause it's home, and it may be sloppy.

Ravens vs Titans - That's gonna be a pretty awesome game, I think. It's harder to beat a team again, though. But the Titans are going to win this one is my gut feeling.

Eagles vs Giants - This one should be interesting as well... and for some reason, I feel as if the Eagles are on a mission, and will beat the Giants, but it won't be easy.

Chargers vs Steelers - Ah... this one is gonna be an interesting game. And you know what? I think SD will do it.

So that's Panthers, Titans, Eagles, Chargers. I'm 2-2 so far, and predict another mediocre result for me and I'll be 4-4. If I'm 6-2, that'll be phenomenal. Heck if I'm 5-3, that'll be pretty neat too!

That was a little surprising at the end there when Birk muffed that snap to Jackson. You wouldn't really expect a little mistake like that from our all-pro center. I really didn't think the Vikings stood a chance against the Eagles defense. We don't really handle the blitz very well. Oh well...
