Thought this should make for an interesting thread. Assume the big wheels at Ford & SVT are reading this, what would you suggest to them? Remember, make it a realistic "wish list" to keep the car at $40k.
Here are some of what i'd like for the GT-500.
1st of all, i wouldn't deviate from what i saw at the NY Auto show. The car is killer as is but what i'd like to see are....
1. The "Shelby" name to remain intact. I want others to know what i'm driving.
2. Give us the leather interior with different color insert options to match exterior color. (optional)
3. Vintage exterior color options (legend lime, guardsman blue...etc)
4. Roll bar w/attaching shoulder belts (standard)
5. Gauge pod either on dash (preferred) or mounted on "A" pillar. (standard)
6. Rims with knock-offs (can be an option)
7. Shelby signature on dash
Other than having car remain as shown at NY, i think these would be good items to have. What do you fellas think?
p.s. Please leave the IRS debate out of this thread !!

Ahhh, that's easy:
1. CONVERTIBLE (yes, I know it's coming);
2. The "Shelby" name to remain intact.
3. Leather interior with different color insert options to match exterior color.
4. Roll bar w/attaching shoulder belts (standard)
5. 19"+ Rims
6. LeMans Stripes

How 'bout a Shelby Cobra-R???
1.Recaro, 5 point seats
2.No radio,a/c,rear seat...
3.Stripped down to 3100 lbs...drippin' wet.(Como se dice? ALUMINUM BLOCK)
4.Get the old man to sign the dash while he can still write.
Only make 300 of them so I can sell it for a whole bunch of money in 10 years

Easy:
1) Keep everything that we saw in NY (yes, including all the leather in the interior)
2) Paint the mirrors body color
3) Give us REAL rubber (275 series tires)
4) Make the passenger seat height adjustable
5) Please make Tungsten one of the color choices

- HID headlights
- Shift light and/or buzzer (ala RX8 or STi)
- OnBoard computer (outside temp, range, tire pressure, est. mpg (good from some laughs)...etc)
- Seats you sit in, rather than sit on (ala EVO, SRT4...)
- tougher/meaner rear end (Shelby taillights or concept tail lights, something to differentiate it from the GT)
- optional targa or t-top
- painted side mirrors and trim (I hate black plastic)

There are some good ideas here. How 'bout this.....everyone here on TMS gets a chance at owning one before anyone else!!
...well well, will you look at that. I'm "GT" status now! Don't i feel special.

I would like to see the tailpipes exit side by side in the center like some of the originals (no longer a saftey issue since the gas filler is no longer in the back)
Other than that, I like it the way it is.

I would like to see different rear tail lights -- like the GTR, or similar. I would want people coming and going to know it is a GT500. Right now, it looks too much like a beefed up V6 past the front bumper.
I would also prefer an aluminum block to keep weight down from the front (turning with that much weight over the front can never be quick or responsive).
Keep the hood, but make it functional.
Keep the 19's.
Keep it under $40k.
