If the handling is a step above the Mustang GT and with its forecasted performance level, I would only replace the catback if and only if the stock catback doesn't provide the sound I expect. If it happens to give some extra ponies all the better.

Pulley, tune, exhaust, possibly port/polish on blower/lower intake/heads. Suspension stuff. It wouldnt stay stock.

this is where i am going, plus gears, and add LT headers to the exhaust

6.Bigger tires
7.Springs

I don't mean to be picky but why do all of the poll questions have typos in them?
It bugged me as soon as I posted it. I try not to make typos or misspell anything. If I notice it, I try to fix it. I can't fix this one.

My Cobra will get the bolt-on treatment...

1. Full exhaust (I love Magnaflow stuff)
2. Intake (gotta hear that supercharger whine too/I love C&L stuff)
3. Pulley (streetable boost 93 octane, 10-12 psi)
4. Drag radials (for the street/skinnies and ET Streets for the track)
5. Maybe some suspension/drivetrain stuff (shifter/maybe some QA1 drag shocks)
6. Big fat single-blade throttle body (Accufab)
7. Tune...

Then go out and run 10's

I'm not thrilled with current wheels so, unless they offer something more to my liking, I would change the wheels. I'm sure there will be a large market for GT500 wheels so it should be easy to get rid of them.

Well exhaust was an all inclusive statement

to be exact, i'd try to opt for LT's, Dr. Gas X-pipe, and magnaflow catback. With the power I would expect from it, I dont think gears would be needed honestly as traction would be severly limited.

I'd work on handling and get it as best as possible, add some nice size tires to the car as well.

I don't agree with those that don't think this car will have any collectible value. This is the LAST Shelby Mustang any of us will ever see - and at age 83 Carroll isn't going to be around forever. Look after this car and it will be a prize 30 years from now, guaranteed.

As to mods: I know I've said this before, but 450 horsepower (and likely much more according to all reports) ought to be enough for anyone. With that much power, you can s*u*c*k the wind out of your lungs and detach your retinas under full acceleration - what in tarnation are you going to do with even MORE power...?

Might just as well slap a rocket engine on the roof and be done with it.

One thing's for sure - this will give ALL import ricers pause for reflection.

Seeing this thing coming up in their rearview mirrors ought to make them fill their pants, whilst simultaneously giving Shelby Cobra drivers a religious experience. :worship:
