John Clor, content manager for www.svt.ford.com, answered some questions that have been circulating the internet forums. I will provide a brief synop below:

The Shelby lettering on the back - will be on the back, may be to the side.
(Brad already has stated this for us)

Front splitter and hood have changed from the concept version.
(Brad has already listed this as well)

He states, "... the Shelby will have an interior that features leather ... "
However, he does make a very vague reference to the amount of leather that will include is not solid.

Tires and rims will change, concepts are always to the extreme with wheels.

Stripes will be vinyl and not painted.
(ditto again by Brad)

Blower will be roots, he does mention Ford Racing Parts gladly selling a twin screw.
I'm not sure if this means you might be able to swap out before taking delivery (like the proposed Saleen) or if you just buy it afterwards. That leads into warranty issues etc ...

He also states that he can still not release what the Shelby will exactly be producing from the factory, goes on to say no one will be disappointed.

Finally he mentions if rumors are going crazy to call SVT's info center and they will clarify what they can....

Number is 1-800-FORD-SVT in case you don't have it.

-------

Yes I know that we knew much of this already thanks to this site. Just wanted to let you know that it has been stated by someone that reportedly works for SVT.

Now we just have 11-14+ months to wait ...

^ people were hoping the dash would be covered in leather like the concept car. And it still looks like there is no final answer on that.

while I'd love to have acres of high quality connelly hides through out the beast. I'd settle for some nice seats and upgraded synthetics (not unlike some of the stuff in my wife's Acura).

Just keep the price at 40k and make mine red or black or blue or white...heck JUST MAKE IT FAST AS heck...

And please let me get at least 14 mpg. I keep telling my wife it'll be better than my current 12 mpg stang.

I'd prefer leather, but, could live with high quality synthetics. The V6/Gt interiors still look really cheap to me. I think this is an area that needs attention.

Agreed Kevin,

On the Bullitt site one person mentions he was talking with an SVT rep and they mentioned the leather dash and steering wheel may be offered as an upgrade.

Maybe we will get lucky and give us the seats and offer the leather option for the car. I would not mind paying a little more for a nice interior.

I would still like MSRP to stay $40 below.

If the leather pushes the car over $40K, then make it an option for those who want it. I know there are plenty of people who would be willing to pay extra $ for it, myself included.

I woyuld gladly pay the upgrade charge to get it. Traditionally, SVT vehicles did not offer many options. Maybe that will change and we will be able to get some of the goodies like the leather interior and upgraded stereo. I could do better aftermarket for less money with the stereo, but, I don't want to tear the dash, door panels and kick panels off to install it.

How do you get to upgrade/have options, if they send the dealers 2 cars "as is". I am on a list in my area and it doesn't look like any options to upgrade to me. You take what they get or move on.

New territory Scott. SVT has historically offered zero options, however this is all still rumors that they will offer some now.

That said, I have heard and read of optional wheels, stripes, and now possible interior. Also, they are wanting to take SVT more mainstream across Ford products so I would not be surprised if they started offering options.

Since the order banks have not opened I can not comment on how the dealerships will do it.

Agreed, this is new terrority for SVT and nothing is set in stone yet. Personally, I hope SVT does break with traditition and allow customers to select from a few choice options.

Thanks Brian and others. I hope we do get the chance to order some options before the car is shipped. I plan to ask my dealer for input on the order sheet. Guess we will see what happens

Yeah, give us color interior inserts as an option just like Roush does.

Make my car blue w/white stripes and blue interior color inserts like this:

Oh, and don't forget the shelby lettering across the trunk lid and the signature on the passenger side dash.

Yeah, I know what you mean. When you compare this to all the other gorgeous, V-8 powered 2+2's making near 500hp priced below 40k the GT500 just doesn't cut it. C'mon man, the nest step up from this is the pushrod V-8 powered C6 Vette making 400hp. The next step down is an Evolution or a STi making around 275-300hp, each out of turbo fours. This car does just fine with it's powerplant and is a steal even at 45k..

It's a $25K Mustang GT with a blown IRON block truck motor and a T56. Originally, it was going to have 3 exotic features.

1) The Ford GT aluminum shortblock.
2) The 4V heads from the Cobra-R/GT
2) A factory Lysholm screwcharger that could spool up to 800+hp on pulleys and tuning.

Now you're down to 1 out of the 3.

If you wanna pay $45K for that, be my guest. Sure it's a steal, for Ford.
