I'm trying to install my slp's tonight. I've mounted the pipes but not completely tightened them down. When I hold them in place where they should be, the hangers that come welded to the pipe and the hangers on the tips are both far (2 inches or more) from where the mounting brackets bolt to the frame. I've seen threads where people had trouble getting the tips aligned just right, but this way more than minor alignment. For those that have installed slps - did you bend the hangers at all? It almost seems like the parts are wrong (I'll try to get pics).

The two tips each have different hangers. One tip has much longer hanger than the other. I assume that the tip with the longer hanger is for the passenger side, and the shorter tip is for the driver's side. Is this right? Not sure how it could be wrong, since the tips would not fit the other way, but just want to be sure.

Any advice on how to get these to fit properly? I'm stuck.
