Hm is tail light one word of two? Any way back to the topic I was wondering what everyone thought of the tail lights on the shelby? I think they should be wider like on the concept. What do you guys think?

That curved angle light is interesting.

I'm not a big fan of the Concept taillights, but I think Vyto did them very well. Either these or the way that it is on the show car is good with me. The current tail lights look really nice to me on the Shelby.

(Thank you SVT for going this direction in the back)

Only thing with these is that it would totally change the decklid and how it closes.

I really have no issues though with the Shelby the way it is. It is beautiful.

I think if they are going to justify a $15K price premium over the GT, then they definitely need more content and distinctiveness than even the 2003-4 Cobra had with its $10K premium over its GT breatheren. As it is, I think, overall, it has even less.

not really.... they can separate the light after the first or second section so that the other sections are attatched to the deck lid... it's just a little extra wiring, that's all.
you can even see in the above rendering the seem of the deck lid goes down between the first and second lamps.... why can't they do it like that?

HTT says money limits the tail light treatment. And as much as you and I love the concept lights we will NOT be seeing them just yet. They are holding them back and bringing them in on some later editions. Why do they even show us the "good stuff" and then say we can't have it. Thats really low :notnice:

why would they use the "shelby lights" on a different application than the GT500? What other application needs Shelby lights?

Concept lights would never make DOT approval without various reflector surfaces, they would look totally stupid in their legal version. If you have ever touched the actual concept tail lights, they look like three glad storage containers glued together. :notnice:

That would surprise me. Why not put ALL the good stuff on your top of the line car? At $40k plus, I expect to have all the goodies. It really makes me curious what he has up his sleeve though.

Now, if by future, he means the next face lift, than I could see that. But, if they come out with a $32k Boss or other SE with the concept/GTR tail lights, that would probably be enough of a sway me away from the GT500. $7k for a blower puts you near GT500 engine specs anyway (I know, not the same, but close enough for me).

For the same reason that computers are continually getting "faster" in small increments...to sell you another one in a couple of years.

IMO, the backend is a little weak. It just doesn't look like the rear end of a car with 450 hp. I liked the way that the '03-'04's had an inward slant to the 3 lights. It gave them a better, tougher stance. Here's my photochop of what I think the GT500 needs:

Well isnt the gt 500 going to have the 5.4 liter supercharged engine that is in the ford gt. I think that right there should throw quite a bit of change on pricing over mustang gt. As well as everything else there doing to the car. I am sure it will be a beautiful ride. But I doubt many people will get them at cost or msrp etc. I am sure the way mustangs in general are right now those few they make of the gt500 will be way over sticker, but thats just my opinion. So Unless you got connections on getting one, get out the bank. I can't wait till someone on the board has one. That will be cool to see in a more personal light.
