While the Whipple may be your cup of tea, I on the other hand want to go fast. So my vote goes to Vortech.

Vortech with air to water cooler

The drag strip crowd will most likely see the best results from the Vortech. But, I think if I were buying, I'd go with the Whipple

You guys have to give it some time first. We really have no real performance numbers on any of the superchagers out right now much less the ones that are in development right now. I'd put my money on Kenne Bell though

Take a look at procharger,

While vortech and paxton continue to mount the SC backwards on the engine, A design which was engineered for mod motors starting 1996 due to packaging problems, Procharger is the only company that noticed the SC could be mounted forwards again, allowing easy accessibility to the head unit, belt, and the pulley. Combined with air to air intercooling, self contained oiling system, price and reliability, I think that procharger is the best engineered, best value, and will have the best dyno numbers of the SCs on the market.

First off let me start by saying thank you for having me here. I just wanted to put a little input on this topic. I wanted to let you know that one of the manufactors that makes blowers for the Marauder will have a blower for the 2005 Mustang out by the begining of next year. Trilogy International will have a Roots Type Blower for the Mustang. Just to let you know, when this blower was added to the Marauder it added about 150-170 hp at the rear wheels. They will also have one for the new F-150. Check out Trilogy. They will be at the Detroit Autorama in Febuary. Here is a pic of it on a Marauder:

looks like a screw as opposed to a roots. I'll say that a rots type blower is probably the least efficient of all SCs. The problem lies in it's inability to create boost inside the pump and that the boost it generates in the intake manifold also blows back out through the pump itself....
The problem I have with a centrifigal blower is that, like a turbo, it still has to spool up to generate boost. There is still lag there (although considerably less than a turbo) and you don't get peak performance from a centrifigal blower until you near the top of your RPM range.
With a screw, your boost is generated in the blower itself and also maintained in the manifold and you always have the boost available even at idle. When you're not using the boost, such as at idle or cruising, the boost is dumpped out the waste gate, but it's always there as soon as it is called for. ..... and unlike a roots blower, the screw has such tight tollerances that no air can blow back up into the SC.

I'm going with a screw, hands down.

yup twin screw>centrifusial>stock>roots

edit: that and a 50% gain which i what was stated above is a very low gain nowadays most companies expect between 70-90% increase from twin screw/centr

The 03/04 Cobra makes awesome power with a twin screw, but guess what. It even makes MORE power with a centrifugal. Like I said before, if I was buying, I'd go with a whipple because of the low end power for around the street. But, the best 1/4 mile times will likely be made by the centris. Turbos, however, will out perform them all and whoever said the word "turbo lag" is living 20 years in the past...there is no such thing anymore.

From what I heard last week. Ford will offer an aftermarket Whipple supercharger for the GT stang in late 06. You could order it at your dealership and they will install it.

By the way, it is also intercooled. It will sell for around $6000. I like this setup because you have instant torque. No waiting for spool-up. This is the set I will be installing on my car this winter. Good luck with your choices.

I agree with sknapp, procharger is the way to go for mustangs. one model they offer-I think it was $5000 or $6000- for 03-04 cobras. You remove the factory supercharger and replace it with porchargers and they make about 600hp.
