Roush Tech Center Visit!
#1
My wife and I are visiting family in Livonia, MI (a suburb of Detroit, and the home of Roush Performance), and the other day a friend who works for Ford suggested I drive by the Roush Tech Center on Plymouth Road to check out all the '05s they've got there. He said Roush was busy assembling Stage 1s and was doing testing on Stage 2s and 3s in the area. So we decided to drop by.
Needless to say, I have never seen so many '05 GTs in my life. There was a virtual ocean of them, as well as a whole slew of completed Stage 1 coupes and convertibles, in every imaginable color. Of course, I took a bunch of photos. Click here to see them.

I had read somewhere that Saleen is planning to build 2000 Mustangs in 05. For the sake of argument, say Roush & Steeda together make 3000 cars. That is 5000 perfectly good GTs that normal buyer is not going to get. That is at least 10% of the total 05 GT production.
I assume that Ford makes good money on selling these cars to the performance builders, but I think they overcommitted on the number of cars these builders get.
Come on guys, take care of you bread and butter buyers first.

That makes me mad! I can't even find a GT coupe to test drive at my local dealers (visited 3 this week), and Roush has at least 50 of them just sitting around. This is part of the reason why the dealers out west are getting MSRP +$5000 on their GTs.

Good point, approximately 10% of all 05 GT's to these guys is BS! :notnice: You would think Ford would want to fill retail orders before fattening the pockets of Roush, Steeda, and Saleen! Maybe someday Ford will learn to take care of customers. Please note: I'm very happy with my GT, the wait stinked and I feel bad for people waiting because of crap like this!

Well I guess we know who has all of the allocation...

IMO, the car looks better without those cut-outs in the rear bumpers. I wonder if that is an option now, or they are just switching to the smooth rear bumpers? What were those cut-outs for anyway - steps for your feet to make it easier to clean the rear glass???
