What do you guys think. I think releases a proto SE along w/a final Shelby could really whip up a frenzy and perhaps give the average Joe a car to afford and dream about. But then again, would Shelby be willing to share the spotlight...

Excuse my ignorance but what is an "SE".

thats too long to wait. with the previous mustang (99-04) they released the bullit in 2001 and that was only 2 years into production.

Special Editions (California Special, Boss, Mach 1, Bullitt).
For all those that do not live in California, forget about the California Special's.. We're keeping those!

Nah, some will make it over here, and if Ford's smart they'll let us all have a crack at em.

If its a 2007 package/edition... expect to see it at Detroit/Chicago/LA/NY
One of those...

And with the Camaro-ish and Challanger concepts coming to Detroit...
Will ford have the Production Cobra or the package/edition.
Mind you the Pony Package didn't really make an autoshow debut....

The more I think about it, the more I think Ford could do some kind of SE in '07. While people may not think of these as "true" SE's, keep in mind that Ford released packages for both the '99 (35th ann limited edition package) and '00 (spring edition package I think they called it).

While these packages seemed more like just tests for future general model appearance changes, I could see Ford doing something similar here, esp. if there is supposed to be some kind of minor visual change in '08 or '09...

I heard the cosmetic change is 09 (i'm sure there will be some power adjustments as well)

The First SE I'm sure will be around 08ish

Still unsure if this 07 is a true special edition, or a package ... to keep the GT aggressive.
As much as I love the clean look, there were a lot of people that liked the fake scoops on the 99-04s...

If they Introduce a concept SE Mustang at the show, it should be on sale by 08 or 09. I have a feeling that the changes in the Mustangs in 08 or 09(when they make the changes) are going to be a facelift, and it will be the Cobra's front end, not exactly the same, just as all of the past Cobras have had the same style Front end as all of the other Mustangs (I mean the grill and headlights).

I agree! I expect the facelift to look more like the Shelby front end.

As for the Detroit Auto Show -
I expect to see an Appearance Package for the Mustang GT. Maybe a 25hp increase as well for 2007. This could be the "Cali. Special".

I would love to see a BOSS or MACH1 prototype in Detroit, but I think we will have to wait a year for that. I expect the Ford Reps to have more info on it though.

A Ford Rep told me 07 or 08 for an SE. So far, everything he told me has come true, so I am going to take his word on it.

So let it be said, so let it be done!! :worship:

Brad has spoken!

Thanks Brad for the confirmation. I look forward to seeing what made it to the production (leather dash, brakes, shelby on rear deck lid) and what did not (sigh, hood).
