I think the nameplate really looks out of place. I liked it spelled out across the back like the concept but if thats not going to happen maybe something a little more understated with the Shelby name in it such as the '67.

Although I would have perfered a more understated plaque like the 67 Gt500 I feel that this is unique to this car and I like that. So I say ok to it. This car is going to be a classic someday just like the 65's thru 70's.IMO

How about....we call it...the SVT Cobra???
Why?
Because..ITS NOT A SHELBY. (Plus, everyone knows GT500s sucked anyway)

Or am I the only one that wishes death on that ancient name-whoring SOB--and only feels mildly guilty saying that?

Haha, even family car owners can have strong feelings about sell-outs...

And the original GT500 did suck, the only Shelby worth owning was the first GT350.

The new Shelby is cool. AnotherMustangMan (who drives a Taurus!) needs to simmer down! All Shelby's deserve the recognition they get. The new one may not be as hands-on Shelby as the ones of yester-year but it is still an awesome car and a great tribute to both Ford and Shelby's heritage whilst blending in modern performance by SVT. It's a cool car and it IS a Shelby. People with opinion such as yours should really keep them to themselves, they are not constructive at all and people will take offense to things like that, especially on a Mustang forum.

Oh, and the Shelby nameplate looked better across the centre as in the concept. However, I am glad they put it on there!

I wish it was an SVT Cobra. Only Because then I could Probably afford to buy one. The Shelby Name adds$$$$$ to the Car. Call it a GTS S for Supercharged. Just sell me one!

Haha, I love how everyone is defending Shelby. Do any of you actually know anything about the man? Go do yourself some research, I think you'll be amused with what you find.

Oh well. Judging by the responses on this page alone he really is an American legend. Sold out, made a killing for doing so, AND people STILL love him.

MT- "So whats your involvement with the car?"
Ol' Shel- "Well, thats hard to decipher. My name is on the car...."

That is truly sad. My Toyota from the mid-'80s would've smoked that POS!

Man, I wonder what one of these rare babies would bring on the auction block!! I bet these things sold for thousands over sticker price.
