Things are looking up for Ford. Lucky for them because I was getting ready to do some serious butt kicking. Notice J Mays was already making plans to move out.

".Ford Shelby Cobra GT500 ..." all I can say is WOW! I really thought Ford was going to go with seperate cars, a "Shelby" Mustang, and a "Cobra" model to try to make as much money as possible. Im surprised! Im excited and sad at the same time.
Im excited cause I know Ill be watching history made, the first new Shelby Cobra Mustang since what 69? And of course the 68Shelby has to be mine and millions of others all time favorite dream car.I say dream car because with the price they want for originals and Elenor clones all I can do is dream.
Sad at the same time because while Ill be drooling over the car I know theres no way in the world Ill be able to afford one. With Shelbys name on it I'm sure it will have to be close to 45k if not more.
The bright light for me is 3 Elenor kits are in development, that I know of , and I can eventually buy Ford Corbra parts for my 05.

That's a little long for a name IMO

It is long, but, It will be shortened naturally. We'll all call it a Shelby or a GT500 or an SVT Mustang or Whatever. No one I talk to used to call the Cobra the Ford SVT Mustang Cobra. It was just a Cobra.

I dont know if anyone else saw this but it was from that same site originally posted ...

the important part of the article:
"The Shelby Cobra is back. A limited edition of Ford's classic Mustang — the brainchild of legendary car designer Carroll Shelby last seen in showrooms in 1970 — is heading back on the road next year.
About 7,500 of them will make it out of the factories, the company said, following an unveiling at the New York Auto Show at Javits Center that kicks off Friday.
And for a price tag of about $40,000, according to current estimates.
Dressed up with a big grille, vented hood, ducktail rear spoiler and classic dual racing stripes, the car will resemble the old Shelbys of the late 1960s, said project leader Hau Thai-Tang, director of Ford's Special Vehicle Team.
"We ended up with a design that is true to the Shelby name but that still makes sense economically," Thai-Tang said."

Approx 40,000

By the way, did you guys click on the link to that NY Daily News article? There is a picture of the new car! It is a small pic and shows Carroll Shelby and Hau Thai-Tang standing by it. You can see it is red with white racing stripes. The pic is too close up to see the cars details, but as far as i know, this is the first real picture of the Shelby Cobra GT500! Wish i knew how to put pictures on here.
