GT-500 got smoked by Nissan

My big-headed friend thinks a STOCK Nissan Skyline can smoke an 05 GT-500 and spit it back up he keeps backing up his comments with stupid excuses when i tell him all the technical stuff, this guy knows nothing

#1 the current nissan Skyline is the same as the Infiniti G35. Its sold as the Skyline in Japan. And no it wont be faster than the new cobra its not even faster than the GT.
#2 taken directly from the Skyline fan site "http://www.skylinegtr.com" A stock r33 skyline ran a 14.0 quarter, a r34 ran a 13.7. Both could still be beaten by a well driven 2005 stang.
#3 The 2002 Skyline gt/R last year of the old body style I believe was rated at 280 horsepower and weighed in at a hefty 3900+ pounds. It was also a mid to high 13 second car.
They are good looking cars and can be made to haul hiney but stock they were not insanely fast cars although ricers like to believe it so.
The current G35 A.K.A. skyline, you can even get it in a 4 door. Note the skyline badging on the decklid.
My favorite skyline but its still a 13 second car stock.
Have your friend actually do some research on the net (even at skyline fan sites). He will see that even a stock 05 GT will keep up with one, a cobra will waste it.

I think your friend has been playing too many video games.
On a side note, a 745i got next to me at a light this morning on my way to work. It turns green and he starts moving, then me. I start speeding up and he floors it.
I downshift to second and grease him. But, I was impressed at the way it moved. It was pretty fast. I did some research and it comes stock with 333hp. Not bad.

A GT-R isn't all that impressive stock. But it's potential is legendary (900hp on stock internals has been reported). And that is why it has the reputation it does.
The next GT-R ought to be interesting though.
