I like the car but the family didn't seem very appreciative of it. The husband looked like a real jerk when he was arguing with Chris before he even saw the car.

Yes... thank you. I'm glad you spoke up. The husband was a complete jerk! I can not believe he was arguing with someone that was putting thousands of dollars and hours into his girls car for free. She deserved it 100% but he does not deserve it at all.

BTW there's an amusing thread @ SVTPERFORMANCE.COM in the "smackdown cafe" the title is. "Overhaulin' guy ripped me off read this!!"

Apparently the husband committed mail fraud on a set of spare 05 GT head lights.

I missed some of the show.

Why was she deserving?

Also, with a Cobra and an 05 (that i'm sure they paid way over sticker for) it seemed like they were well off financially.

I agree that the husband was a JERK. It seemed like he had the car done more for his pleasure than hers. Something about the whole thing didn't seem right. She seemed a little too calm for someone who just had a brand new car stolen IMHO.

By the looks of that episode it would make someone think that it is as easy as just calling chip foose up. There was no sob story or anything that resembled prior overhaulin.

I would have expected a little more custom work for an overhauled car.

I think he is just too busy, or is getting bored with it -- his recent cars seem to have less and less "good stuff" done to them -- just fixed up, painted and custom wheels.

There is no denying it is a cool car though.

He is not too busy he wasnt thrilled about getting a brand new car to overhaul and he didnt want to do it, but contractually had to, if you notice he wasnt around much for the build he mostly pawned the work off to others to get done

Anyone notice the husband had a Cobra. So is Overhaulin just modifying anyones cars now? I thought you had to have a story behind it like on Extreme Makeover home edition?
No, his friend works for Chicane who was working on the car and does a lot for overhaulin', he was the guy working on the mirrors and the first rental guy that the wife spoke to, what they did was made a call and asked if he could get the car onto the show, so their friend pulled some strings and made it happen, he too was at the Queen Mary show this weekend

They did mention that they only had 5 days vs. the usual 7. But seeing that car driving, has prety much got me set on the silver nitrous wheels and the 3D's kit and decklid spoiler.
Actually I was told the car was done in 4, not much was done to it.

I would also like to know what they did to the Tail lights?
The darkness was painted on, I have seen it on a lot of cars so far, what they do is mix black paint with a clear coat and shoot a thin single layer and it tints the lenses while leaving them transparent, the trim around the lights were painted grey to match the stripes.

Just watched the show. They were saying that the rear spoiler was a one of a kind that was created during the build. It looks like the one on their website though. It's one of the best looking spoilers I've ever seen.
It is the 3DCarbon wing, it must have been the first one done, the large mexican fellow you see working on the car in the show is from 3DCarbon, and the reason they went with the kit is because they are down the street.

What i liked and disliked...

Liked:
-gal seemed really happy (she has to live with it)
-interior seemed to be well done
-exhaust system
-motor upgrades
-shock upgrades
-brake upgrades
-mirrors

Disliked:
-stripes (would look better with standard front too back)
-whole body kit (front back sides..it all looked horrid)
-boom box (i hate when ya pull next to some kid with one,and your car shakes)
-wheels
-motor sound (i like idea of motor upgrade, but was it me or did it sound bad?)

Overall:
Didn't like car,but the gal did... so i guess thats what really counts...
SO this is what has been changed so far on the car....
detuned to only 8lbs of boost, it was too fast for her
the ride hieght was increased, it was too low for her
the exhaust system, it was too loud for her

NO, She wasnt, if you listen closely all they say is shes a nurse and is very deserving of the car,she knew it was being overhauled and from talking to them they arent car people nor really care beyond they were on a tv show and have a one of a kind car that is special and can probably sell it for a lot down the road, they both dont know jack about the car and dont like having to take it to the shows that overhaulin has lined up for it and dont even keep it clean.

yes, but if you ask him he left, he is a big jerk and a liar, he lied on the SVT forums about almost everything about the car

they took the lenses off and painted them the same grey as the stripes and the trim on the taillights then resealed them
