Anyone else hearing rumors? Hau Thai-Tang is supposed to be on NBC Nightly News Monday.. I have heard rumors after the Shelby is released, he wants to dismantle SVT.
Not happy with the direction FoMoCo wants and concerned with short changes to the Shelby GT 500.
Anyone hearing any rumors???
I wont be in a position to try to get one, but hate to see SVT gone.

I read the same through Motortrend. that once Hau Thai-Tang comes into place SVT will become minimal. Although he did influence the SVT focus, contour, lightning, mustang and supposedly he is going to try out developing an SVT fusion a year or 2 after it's introduced to the public pushing in the high 200 horsepower range to almost 300 according to motortrend.

I just watched this and obviously it didn't say the end is near for SVT. It did, however, show a red GT500 with the same hood as the Yellow. I bet that is the one we are getting.

Didn't we already go through this rumor 8 months ago when John Coletti retired?
If HTT dismantles SVT then he had to look for a new job.

I agree V10. I think people are getting the SVT distribution strategy mixed up with the product plan. It's obvious that Darryl Hazel intends to dismantle or expand SVT dealer network (depending on your perspective). They wouldn't have anything to sell to the expanded network if they dismantle SVT product plan!
I'm not sure why HTT would make his job obsolete. What else would you work on at Ford that would be half as exciting? Freestar? Taurus? Ranger?

The rumor is false. In no way does Hau Thai Tang want to dismantle SVT, in fact he pushing for more funding for SVT and future products. Why would a man so devoted to building a car that created an uproar in the automotive world, want to crush all future hopes of it. Business aside, HTT is one of us, an enthusiast and he wants performance cars as much if not more than we do.

I was able to watch their Neosporan (sp?) commercial, but then it stopped...no video of HTT.
So I guess MSN has no support for Windows either

Whether it is done away with or not, SVT is mainly favored due to distinction and exclusivity, nothing else. If Ford is not interested in maintaining the SVT following or quenching the rumors why should we care. We are the ones that put money in their pockets. They know exactly how their customers feel.
