Since when do salesmen become honest sources of information???

Dealers and salesmen are the source of more incorrect information than just about anything else. Then all this info gets passed along on the net as fact. It may be a surprise to people but ford doesnt give dealers the inside track on new models. You are more likely to hear about it first in a magazine or on an automotive journalist site. The average mustang fan knows more about the car than 99.9% of dealers out there.
I keep thinking back to the "SVT certified" salesman that asked me when I got back from test driving my 2003 cobra "So how does 320 horsepower feel" . [/b][/quote]
Who manufactures the chain link belt on the new CVT transmission in the 500, and how many links wide is it? Oh, and what is the availability on kick-up frames on the 650/750/ and 750s series? How many transmissions are available and how many PTO's are standard on each?

Please dont spread this 'inside information' I have been holding for a long time. Lets keep it within TMS members only or I will loose my job!
The next cobra will be faster then the standard mustang gt, and cost a little more too.
Now shhhhhhhhhhhhh!

And YES.. I want fries with that!!
It is common to speculate on future products. I suspect Ford will let us know in a few months with a show car. But we'll see. (Maybe an SE will do).
People keep saying that Ford couldn't put the 5.4 in as it would be too expensive. Er, the reason it is too expensive is most likely because of volume (and spreading the cost of development over few units). It probably wouldn't take Ford much to drop the cost substantially by increasing volume. So if Ford wants, I'm sure they could do it.
Personally, I think a retuned version of the 5.0 liter cammer would be plenty of car. Isn't it 440 N/A? (Put on an SC if they want). And I bet quite a bit lighter and easier to keep the weight distribution good.

I speculate the cobra will have a twin turbo v-16 but only be 1.3 liters. We also wont have to worry about IRS because ford will be switching the mustang over to a reverse tricycle configuaration with only 1 wheel in the back.

Because it keeps us pacified until we know the real info. I'd love to talk about the real facts, but, since they are not released, let's speculate about them.
