I won't reveal who or where, so flame away if you wish, but the 5.4 will be a 32 valve...according to my source. We'll see soon enough... :bang:

I had previously heard it would be a 3-valve...

But, IF it has the Ford GT motor, it would be a 4-valve s/c 5.4 engine.

But the reverse isn't necessarily true...

My wifes brothers girlfriends kid is currently working as a stuntwoman on the new movie "Way Fast and So Furious" and claims they are using 2 different Cobra prototypes on the production. The FMC rep in charge of the cars claims they are very close to the production versions. The info I received shows Ford is trying some bold new ideas with the Cobras design:

Motor - In a historic departure Ford is abandoning the V8 configuration for a horizontally opposed DOHC flat 8 cylinder powerplant. This design was favored as it makes room for the twin turbo's and 4' x 4' intercooler with "On Demand" air conditioning and aux. water sprayer. Should be good for 505hp! No details on tranny yet but a revised super duty T5 is being tested.

Body - Two different configurations will be available. The standard configuration will have a ducktail type spoiler and ground effects trim with the usual snake emblems. A limited edition S.R. (Street Racing) version will also be available with the following extras:
1. 22" ricecake honeycomb wheels with low profile tires running helium gas to decrease rolling resistance.
2. Huge rear wing with adjustable height and angle. Could double as an advertising banner for track racers.
3. True Dual "Fart Can" exhaust system exiting rear bumper at 45 degree angle.
4. Cut down lowering springs. Ground effects package will extend to 1" above pavement to improve aerodynamics.
5. Numerous racing stickers to show the cars proud heritage.

Interior - Taking the My Color option one step further color options will increase to 2007. The 12" Tach will be mounted on dashboard with twin Neon mycolor shift lights and buzzers. The tach will be mounted on a pedestal and flip side will contain a mirror for picking zits/nose while waiting at stoplights. This is all I have for now. Will reports updates as I receive

Good boy Lucky!

Now my magic 8 ball - I mean my source says that they are resurrecting the Merlin V-1650 from the original P51 Mustang. This requires the firewall to be pushed back to the rear seat. The car may be a little nose-heavy too.

So what is this engine, a 5.4 S/C 3 Valve? This is what was sitting in the 2005 Lightning concept, ~500hp ...

I would just end up getting deleted at production like the engine cover on the Mustang GT.

I had originally heard that it would be a S/C 3-valve, NOT the GT motor. The engine in the L concept IS the GT setup (close enough). The original idea was that Ford wanted to cut costs and was going to 3-valve across the board. The new info seems to contradict this...

unless it has functional hood scoops.... you need to locate air filters somewhere, the plumbing on the Mach 1 Shaker was a joke. ..... I hope that's it, and I hope it stays.

And Rob, I was under the impression that the My Color feature was going to be modified so tha tyou could change the color of the ENTIRE CAR using the Message Center. Perhaps I was misinformed.
