Thanks, I have had trouble finding it in stores (I am at school for the summer so pickings are slim).

Nice find Brad

Mr. Shelby and SVT really did an excellent job bringing out the retro style of the original GT500

Ya the grill makes more sense to me now, seeing it compared to the old one. Just one huge opening divided in two by the bumper.
Its funny how the cobra's looking the other way on this one. I guess this way its looking forward instead of backwards.

That wallpaper is cool. I could look at it a long time comparing different lines on the car. Thanks for posting it.

Two things stood out to me in that article.

1. June 06 (yeah)
2. 57/43 (oooh). I wonder how the ratio would be with a NA 5.4.

Using 3800 lbs and 7% more up front and 7% less in the back, that is a 532 lb difference.

Maybe they will do some things to help this such as battery in the trunk and anything else they can shift. I doubt it, but, would like to see them use some light weight parts to help the distribution and the overall weight of the car. If they don't, I'll probably add some over time from the aftermarket to try to lighten the car.

Is Carbon fiber a lot lighter than aluminum? If so, a CF hood would be an obvious choice.

They seemed to feel in the article that with the huge contact patches of the tires they're using combined with the steer by right foot capability of the 475 out front, this bias would really just set it up nice for slight understeer.

Well, with an estimated 475 stock HP, this thing will have no trouble putting standard Corvettes on the truck, and the Z06 will be quite surprised as well. They are even predicting greater lateral G figures from this car in spite of the weight. I'm thinking a few bucks, pulley swap etc and show the Z06 the rear view often.

This thing is going to be a monster. I may have to find a way to sell the GT and get one of these.

I'm actually guessing is will be pretty close for the stock Vette and GT500 given the power to weight ratios:

GT500 -- 3800lbs \ 475hp = 8lbs/hp
Vette -- 3200lbs \ 400hp = 8lbs/hp

Indeed, given the Vette's better weight distribution, suspension and aerodynamics, I might give it a slight nod. As for the Z06, which comes in around 6.4lbs/hp, well, seems simple physics there. As for handling and braking, the other two main elements of performance, I'd have to give the Vettes a difinitive nod there too.
