So, I didn't see a topic about this. In the August issue of Motortrend there is a sidebar in the Charger R/T vs. Mustang article that talks about a 2008 Bullitt that will come without the GT fogs, and possibly have intake and exhaust changes. Interesting.

I personally hope they don't do a Bullit. I think both a Bullit and a California Special would be a waste of our allotted annual S/Es.
Paint and stickers don't mean a whole lot to me.

Plus, I think Ford feels there is no need to show all of its tricks right away.

the 2001 Bullitt was sweet.
I would love to see an S197 edition Bullitt

It was just highland green paint and some interior bits!
If ford does choose to do ANOTHER Bullit, they had better give it more than a five horsepower boost, or some serious suspension ugrades, or at least something that I could'nt replicate myself. A true special edition should be better in at least one performance aspect than a stock car.

People bought those because they wanted an 'SE'... so let's keep em special. There are plenty of other models to pay homage to.

The 01 bullitt will always be...an 01 Bullitt, regardless of how many editions come out in the future...if at all.
Besides, its the only special edition that came out with a NEW name...not a throwback to an old 'SE'
It will always be the first.

.... If you owned a DHG '01 Bullitt, how upset would you be that Ford re-issued one. Sure, the '05 bodystyle looks more like the original than the '99-'04... but that's besides the point.

Ford should redeem itself and the Bullitt fans with the new version. It would not be a breach of loyalty to those who bought the original since most of them have sold their Bullitt even though most said they would never sell it. That lasted until the Mustang was improved in performance with the Mach 1, '03 Cobra, and the '05 GT
Lastly, DHG was the best color ever IMO. It should not be restricted to 4,000 Mustangs.

It was very special, with many positives but the bottom line is the buyers were short changed in performance and the deleting of some of the prototype's features.
